The Chartiers-Houston softball has had Beth-Center's number the past two seasons, outscoring the Bulldogs, 55-2, in the last three meetings.

On Friday night, the Buccaneers again piled up the runs.

No. 2-ranked Chartiers-Houston defeated Beth-Center, 11-1, in a Section 3-2A matchup.

Beth-Center (1-6, 1-5) got on the board in the top of the first inning thanks to an RBI fielder's choice by Paige Moore that scored Jen Zelenick, who reached on an error. The Bulldogs would not score again, though, and only registered two hits.

Chartiers-Houston's Kaitlyn Dittrich earned the win with nine strikeouts in five innings.

The Buccaneers (8-1, 5-1) scored once in the first, three times in the second, three in the fourth, two in the fifth and two in the sixth to end the game.

First baseman Ella Brookman ended the game with a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to enact the 10-run mercy rule.

At the plate, Chartiers-Houston was led by Kasey Scears (3 for 3, RBI), Jaylese Lombardi (3 for 4, 2 RBIs), Karlyn Bayer (2 for 2, two steals) and Maddyson Smith (3 for 3, 2 RBIs).

Losing pitcher Mackenzie Crile had a single and triple for Beth-Center.
