Franklin Regional swimmers took part in five events at the PIAA Class AAA championships last week at Bucknell.

The Panthers had a trio of swims on Day 1, and the girls 200-yard freestyle relay of seniors Lily Wang and Michelle Lopes, along with juniors Abigail Ramey and Baylee Horvath just missed a spot in the consolation finals with an 18th-place finish in 1 minute, 39.56 seconds.

The quartet only was 39 one-hundredths of a second away from 16th.

Also swimming on Day 1 was junior Patrick Cavanaugh. He placed 21st in the 200 individual medley in 1:57.62.

Ramey also had an individual swim Day 1, and she took 25th in the girls 200 IM in 2:11.29.

Day 2 saw Cavanaugh and Ramey take part in the 100 breaststroke.

Cavanaugh finished 27th in 59.93, while Ramey was 30th (1:08.99).
