Ligonier Valley's boys basketball team is on a roll, and the Rams will look to carry that momentum into the District 6 playoffs.

The Heritage Conference champion Rams (17-4), winners of 12 consecutive games, found out Wednesday they are the No. 2 seed and will open the nine-team Class 3A tournament at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 at home against Penns Valley (10-11).

The winner gets the winner of Juniata (16-7) and Mount Union (13-9) on Feb. 26 at a time and site to be determined.

The championship game is 8 p.m. March 2 at Mt. Aloysius in Cresson.

The Ligonier Valley girls also learned their playoff seeding in 3A.

The 10th-seeded Rams (11-11) will visit No. 7 Tyrone (14-8) at 7 p.m. Feb. 20. The winner faces No. 2 Juniata (22-1) at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 at Juniata.

The final is set for 6 p.m. March 2 at Mt. Aloysius.
