Bolstered by Saturday's victory at the Derry Invitational, the North Allegheny boys volleyball team remains in the top spot in Class AAA in the latest Western Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association WPIAL poll released Monday morning.

Derry Invite runner-up Penn-Trafford is at No. 2, followed by Butler and Bethel Park.

The remainder of the top 10 in Class AAA has Seneca Valley at No. 5, Hempfield at No. 6, Shaler at No. 7, Norwin at No. 8, Latrobe at No. 9 and Pine-Richland at No. 10.

Baldwin and Canon-McMillan also received votes.

In Class AA, Ambridge maintains its hold on No. 1.

Derry defeated Deer Lakes in the first meeting of the section rivals last week, and the Trojans leapfrog the Lancers into second.

Deer Lakes settles in at No. 3, followed by Seton LaSalle and Montour.

The rest of the top 10, in order, consists of Beaver County Christian, Bishop Canevin, Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic, Keystone Oaks and Obama Academy.

OLSH and Trinity also received AA votes.

The lists for both AAA and AA are compiled based on votes from all 40 boys volleyball head coaches after last week's nonsection and section matches and the three weekend tournaments.

In addition to the team rakings, Pine-Richland junior outside hitter Luke Olsen and Butler senior outside hitter Nash Bryan were selected the Class AAA Players of the Week.

Derry senior outside hitter John Kerr and Obama Academy junior setter David Graham are the Class AA Players of the Week.
