Pine-Richland, Hampton earn top seeds for WPIAL girls lacrosse playoffs

Like their boys lacrosse counterparts, the Pine-Richland girls earned the top seed for the WPIAL Class AAA playoffs, when the postseason pairings were revealed Friday.
The defending WPIAL champion Rams finished the season 12-1 and received a bye into the quarterfinals. No. 2 Mt. Lebanon (15-2) and No. 3 Fox Chapel (9-2) also earned a bye. Upper St. Clair (11-2) is the fourth seed.
In Class AA, defending champion Hampton (15-2) was awarded the No. 1 seed, followed by Oakland Catholic (9-2), Seton LaSalle (11-5) and Mars (7-4). The top four seeds have a first-round bye.
First-round games will be played Monday and Tuesday, with the quarterfinals set for Wednesday and Thursday. The semifinals are May 21.
The championship games will be held May 24 at Robert Morris.
