Washington teammates Isaiah Schoonmaker and Nick Welsh were among five WPIAL football players selected for the Class 2A all-state team announced Monday.

The two Prexies, who led Washington to its first WPIAL title since 2001, were selected in a vote by Pennsylvania sports writers. Joining them were East Allegheny's T.J. Banks and Steel Valley's Todd Hill.

Outside the WPIAL, Ligonier Valley's Jackson Daugherty and Aaron Tutino each earned all-state honors.

Southern Columbia claimed both the player of the year and coach of the year awards after winning the state title for the second time in three years. The top player was sophomore Julian Fleming and Jim Roth was named the top coach.
