Rain forced the WPIAL to postpone Tuesday's Class AAA and AA team tennis semifinal matches to Wednesday.

Fox Chapel, the No. 1 seed in Class AAA, will face No. 4 North Allegheny on the courts at Shady Side Academy, while No. 3 Shady Side Academy will take on No. 7 Allderdice at Sewickley Academy's Nichols Field courts.

Both semifinal contests are set to begin at 3:30 p.m.

Allderdice pulled off the lone upset in the quarterfinals as the Dragons edged No. 2 Peters Township, 3-2, Monday afternoon.

The semifinal winners in Class AAA not only will move closer to a WPIAL title, but they also qualify for the PIAA tournament.

In Class AA, the top four seeds have advanced. No. 1 Sewickley Academy, hoping to win its 14th straight WPIAL AA title, will face No. 4 South Park at Moon High School, while No. 2 Indiana and No. 3 Quaker Valley will do battle at Valley High School.

The Class AA semifinal matches also will be at 3:30 p.m.

Three teams advance to states in AA, the two finalists and the winner of a consolation match between the teams that lose in the semifinals.
