The Yough softball team opened its season with a 14-8 loss to Seymour, Wisc., at the ESPN Wide World of Sports tournament at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

Aubrie Mance went 2 for 2 with two home runs, and Karlie Clark, Savannah Manns and Corrin Parquette all added two hits for the Cougars (0-1).

Games postponed

The opening day of baseball and softball in Western Pennsylvania was a washout, or snow out. With fields covered in snow and temperatures in the 40s, teams were forced to postpone their opening games.
