Noah Hutcherson
Valley, sr., TE/DE
Hutcherson used his speed and strength to produce five sacks in last week’s opener against Burrell. The Vikings hope he can be that disruptive Friday against an Avonworth attack led by senior quarterback Derek Johncour.
Bret Kardos
Leechburg, sr., RB/LB
Kardos and the Blue Devils celebrated last Friday’s win over rival Apollo-Ridge, and the senior helped produced a couple of sacks in the triumph. The former quarterback hopes to rise to the occasion again this week against No. 1 Jeannette.
Max Matolcsy
Plum, so., WR/LB/DB
The Mustangs’ wideout is no secret anymore. He caught seven passes for 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns last Friday against Highlands. He hopes to be a factor again this week against rival Franklin Regional.
Evan McCrea
Freeport, sr., WR/LB
The standout is a top target when the Yellowjackets go to the air with the arm of Austin Romanchak. McCrea’s experience is one reason Freeport is a contender to reach the WPIAL playoffs for the third time in four seasons.
