Bezjak’s walk-off single lifts Albert Gallatin past Connellsville

Ally Bezjak had knocked in three runs Tuesday afternoon, including one that sent Albert Gallatin to the PIAA tournament.

Bezjak's single in the eighth inning lifted the Colonials to a 4-3 victory over Connellsville in the WPIAL Class 5A softball consolation game at Seton Hill.

Bezjak plated Maddie Flowers, who tripled. Bezjak also had a two-run home run. Maddy Hershberger earned the win after throwing four innings in relief for Albert Gallatin (13-4).

Losing pitcher Mia Burd had two hits for Connellsville (13-8).

Albert Gallatin will play the subregional winner between the champions of District 6, 9 and 10 in the PIAA first round on Monday at a time and site to be determined.
