The North Allegheny Tigers will play for a PIAA Quad-A crown for the second time in three seasons as NA topped the Wilson Bulldogs 45-10 on Saturday afternoon in the state semifinals at Mansion Park in Altoona.

The Bulldogs rocked the Tigers to begin the contest, when Jesse Poore returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown to give Wilson an immediate 7-0 lead.

However, the game would belong to the Tigers after that as NA quarterback Mack Leftwich passed for 217 yards and three touchdowns and added another score on the ground.

The passing game was opened up courtesy of the effective running of North Allegheny tailback Alex DiCiantis who carried the ball 22 times for 111 yards and a touchdown.

While the Tigers offense poured on the points, the NA defense would allow only a field goal to Wilson which didn’t come until the third quarter.

The Bulldogs could manage only 103 total yards against North Allegheny.  Senior tailback Jim Brooks rushed for 40 yards and quarterback Matt Timochenko was held to 3 of 13 passing for 11 yards and one interception.

With the win, North Allegheny improves to 15-0 on the season and will face the Coatesville Red Raiders next Saturday night in Hershey.
