Derry senior baseball player Isaac Buterbaugh possibly had his season end Monday after he was hit in the head with a pitch against Deer Lakes.

Buterbaugh was one of his school's nominations for the Excellence Award at the Judge John J. Driscoll Westmoreland County Scholar-Athlete banquet Tuesday.

He played in 11 games and hit .265 with seven RBIs as the leadoff hitter. Derry is 2-9.

Buterbaugh also played golf and was on the swimming team.
