Gateway junior Bryce Washington is invitated to the Kohl's Kicking National Invitational Scholarship Camp on July 21-22 in Milwaukee.

Many of the nation's top kickers, punters and long snappers will attend the camp with the hopes of earning All-American status.

Washington (5-foot-11 and 240 pounds) is ranked the No. 46 long snapper in the group of 2019 graduates.

His profile on the Kohl's Kicking web site notes his reputation as being one of the more explosive snappers in the 2019 class, and he owns an average snap time of .67 seconds to a target of 15 yards.

Tight ball rotation and clean mechanics are listed strengths.

“There is great credibility and reputation with this camp,” Gateway coach Don Holl said. “It's a legitimate measuring stick of specialists. Bryce has worked really hard on his craft for a long time. The importance to the position can't be overstated. It's great when you can count on a guy like Bryce.”

The specialists for the Under Armour All-American Game and Semper Fi All-American will be chosen from this group of campers.

The camp also is a top evaluator to do the Kohl's and ESPN national rankings.

Washington was a key member of the 2017 Gateway WPIAL Class 5A championship football team, which also made it to the state championship game in Hershey. He started at center and earned all-conference honorable mention recognition.
