Logan Pfeuffer threw for 172 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 3 Peters Township to a 41-24 victory over Chartiers Valley (3-5, 0-5) in a Class 5A Allegheny 8 Conference football game Friday night.

Ryan Magiske added 108 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Indians (6-2, 4-1).

Class 6A

Central Catholic 45, Butler 10 — Gus Sunseri ran six times for 76 yards and touchdowns of 45, 19 and 1 yard as No. 3 Central Catholic (6-2, 4-2) beat Butler (0-8, 0-6) in Class 6A. The Vikings led 31-3 at halftime.

Class 5A

Franklin Regional 42, Connellsville 9 — Brandon Zanotto ran for 131 yards and touchdowns of 14 and 79 yards to lead Franklin Regional past Connellsville (2-6, 1-4) in the Class 5A Big East Conference.

Adam Rudzinski threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns — both to Devon Powell, who also added a rushing touchdown for the Panthers (6-1, 4-1), who clinched a playoff berth.

Gateway 49, Albert Gallatin 0 — Brendan Majocha completed all five of his passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns to lead top-ranked Gateway (8-0, 5-0) to the Big East Conference win over Albert Gallatin (0-8, 0-5). Derrick Davis added 114 rushing yards and a 65-yard touchdown in the win.

Mars 49, Fox Chapel 14 — Garrett Reinke rushed for 221 yards and five touchdowns — all in the first half — as Mars (7-1, 4-1) beat Fox Chapel (2-6, 1-4) in Northern Conference play. Shane Susnak threw for 149 yards and both Fox Chapel touchdowns.

North Hills 20, Armstrong 9 — Tyler Brennan ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns while teammate Tyler Tomasic ran for 117 yards as North Hills (5-3, 4-1) defeated Armstrong (3-5, 1-4) in a Northern Conference contest. Jalen Price threw for 153 yards and ran for a touchdown for Armstrong.

Penn Hills 52, Shaler 7 — Hollis Mathis threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 46 yards and another score to lead No. 2 Penn Hills (8-0, 6-0) to the Northern Conference win against Shaler (3-5, 2-3). Tank Smith added 136 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the win. Penn Hills outgained Shaler, 427 yards to 144.

Class 4A

Thomas Jefferson 48, Laurel Highlands 0 — Shane Stump threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns to Dan Deabner as top-ranked Thomas Jefferson (7-0, 5-0) downed Laurel Highlands (3-5, 1-4) in the Big 8 Conference. Deabner caught five passes for 129 yards while teammate Dylan Mallozzi rushed for three touchdowns.

Knoch 24, New Castle 21 — Josh Goldscheitter’s 22-yard field goal in the fourth quarter lifted Knoch (3-5, 3-4) to the Northwest 8 Conference win at New Castle (3-5, 1-4). Goldscheitter, who kicked field goals of 22 and 33 yards earlier in the game, became the first Knoch kicker to make three field goals in the same game since 1994. Demetris McKnight scored on a 95-yard interception return and a 58-yard run for New Castle.

Montour 37, Ambridge 7 — William White rushed for 205 yards and two touchdowns to lead Montour (3-5, 3-2) to the Northwest 8 win over visiting Ambridge (1-7, 0-5). Luke Persinger threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns for the Spartans. Mason Osborn led Ambridge with 135 passing yards and a TD.

Class 3A

Elizabeth Forward 55, Mt. Pleasant 13 — Evan Lewis returned the opening kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown as No. 4 Elizabeth Forward (6-1, 5-1) led from the start in its Class 3A Big East win at Mt. Pleasant (1-7, 1-5).

Lewis added a rushing touchdown while teammate Zachary Benedek threw for 103 yards and a TD. Jacob Johnson, who caught five passes for 119 yards, accounted for Mt. Pleasant’s touchdowns on a 55-yard pass from Lucas Pieszak and a 4-yard run.

North Catholic 70, Uniontown 0 — Joey Prentice ran for 138 yards and two touchdowns as No. 3 North Catholic (7-1, 5-1) scored 56 points in the first half on way to routing Uniontown (0-8, 0-6) in Big East Conference play. Zack Rocco threw for 112 yards and two touchdowns and also added a rushing TD.

Aliquippa 55, South Park 7 — In the Tri-County West, Eli Kosanovich threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns to lead top-ranked Aliquippa (8-0, 5-0) to the win at South Park (2-5, 2-3). Avante McKenzie ran for 161 yards and three touchdowns for the Quips, while teammate William Gipson caught five passes for 168 yards and three TDs. Aliquippa held South Park to just 13 yards of offense.

Beaver Falls 49, Waynesburg 10 — Dayln Brickner threw for three touchdowns and ran for three more as No. 5 Beaver Falls (7-1, 5-1) scored all of its points in the first half in its Tri-County West win at Waynesburg (1-7, 0-6).

Central Valley 52, Hopewell 7 — Jaylen Guy ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns to lead Central Valley (3-5, 3-2) over Hopewell (2-6, 1-4) in the Tri-County West. Anthony Mendocino added three touchdowns — one rushing and two on passes from Ameer Dudley — for Central Valley, which led at the half 46-0.

Class 2A

Frazier 20, Brownsville 0 — Julian Muccioli threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns — both to Vincenzo Muccioli — as Frazier (3-5, 2-3) shut out Brownsville (0-8, 0-5) in the Century Conference.

Washington 70, Beth-Center 36 — In the Century Conference, Dylan Asbury ran for 212 yards and four touchdowns as No. 5 Washington (7-1, 4-1) scored 48 unanswered points in the second half to defeat Beth-Center (5-3, 4-2). Zack Swartz threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns for Washington, which trailed in the third quarter 36-22, before Asbury’s first touchdown. Bailey Lincoski threw for three touchdowns to pace Beth-Center.

New Brighton 26, Western Beaver 0 — Jackson Hall completed 11 of 13 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns to lead New Brighton (3-5, 3-2) to the Midwestern Conference win against Western Beaver (2-6, 1-4). Caleb Shuler caught scoring passes of 13 and 62 yards, while Nyasanu Greene ran for one touchdown and caught another.

Riverside 21, Ellwood City 7 — LeMarcus Cleckley ran for 127 yards and a touchdown to lead Riverside (5-2, 4-2) to the Midwestern Conference win at Ellwood City (2-6, 2-4). Ben Hughes threw for Riverside’s other two touchdowns.

Brentwood 34, Carlynton 21 — In the Three Rivers Conference, John Milcic threw for 179 yards and five touchdowns to lead Brentwood (4-4, 3-3) to victory at Carlynton (1-7, 0-5).

South Side Beaver 50, Seton LaSalle 27 — Jordan Bruce ran for 159 yards and two touchdowns and Jake Botkin added 107 rushing yards and three TDs as South Side Beaver (6-2, 4-2) beat Seton LaSalle (3-5, 2-3) in the Three Rivers Conference. Joey Ranft threw for 172 yards and one touchdown to pace Seton LaSalle’s offense.

Class A

Laurel 35, Cornell 34 — Despite Zaier Harrison throwing for 465 yards and four touchdowns, Cornell (4-3, 3-3) fell to Laurel (4-4, 3-2) in the Big 7 Conference. Luke McCoy and Daniel Blank each scored two touchdowns while rushing for 196 and 153 yards, respectively, for Laurel. Kaden DiVito caught 11 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns for the Raiders while teammate Isaiah Langston had seven receptions for 173 yards and a TD. The two teams totaled 51 points in a back-and-forth fourth quarter.

Rochester 45, Northgate 24 — In the Big 7 Conference, Noah Whiteleather ran seven times for 172 yards and touchdowns of 57 and 42 yards as No. 5 Rochester (7-1, 5-1) beat Northgate (0-8, 0-5). Darius Goosby added two rushing touchdowns for Rochester while Davonte Christie threw for 121 yards and a TD and ran 12 yards for another score to pace Northgate.

California 55, Bentworth 21 — Austin Grillo completed five passes — all for touchdowns — for 192 yards as California (4-4, 4-1) beat Bentworth (4-4, 3-3) in the Tri-County South. Grillo added 105 rushing yards while teammate Jelani Stafford ran for 112 yards and a touchdown.

Chartiers-Houston 14, Avella 7 — Jimmy Sadler and Anthony Lento scored rushing touchdowns for Chartiers-Houston (3-5, 3-3) in its Tri-County South win against Avella (1-7, 0-5). All of the game’s points came in the first half.

Monessen 42, Mapletown 0 — Dawayne Howell threw for 194 yards and three touchdowns as Monessen (6-1, 5-1) held Mapletown (0-8, 0-5) to 11 total yards in its Tri-County South win. Vaughn Taylor added 100 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just six carries for Monessen, which scored 30 points in the first quarter.

Blackhawk 50, Indiana 7 — Chance Liptak threw for 120 yards and two touchdowns to lead Class 4A No. 4 Blackhawk (7-1) to a nonconference win against Indiana (2-6). Luke Thomas threw for 122 yards and Indiana’s lone touchdown.

Clairton 33, West Greene 14 — Brendan Parsons hit Andress Wiggins with two scoring passes as Class A No. 2 Clairton (7-0) defeated West Greene (5-3) in nonconference play. Parsons added a 24-yard rushing touchdown.

OLSH 53, Jefferson-Morgan 0 — Class A No. 4 OLSH (7-1) held Jefferson-Morgan (2-6) to minus-11 yards as Sig Saftner and Bobby Brazell intercepted two passes each in the Chargers nonconference win. Saftner and Brazell also each caught scoring passes from Tyler Bradley, who threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns. Richard Banks added six receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown for OLSH.

Penn-Trafford 42, Trinity 6 — Six different players scored touchdowns as Class 5A Penn-Trafford (6-2) beat Class 4A Trinity (1-6). Gabe Dunlap threw for one touchdown and ran for another to pace Penn-Trafford.

Seneca Valley 24, Woodland Hills 7 — Matt Stanger rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown as Class 6A No. 4 Seneca Valley (6-2) beat Class 5A Woodland Hills (2-6). Stanger added a touchdown on a 36-yard pass from Gabe Lawson. Lawson threw for 170 yards and also ran for a touchdown.

Shady Side Academy 45, Fort Cherry 0 — Skyy Moore rushed for four touchdowns as Class 2A No. 1 Shady Side Academy (7-0) beat Fort Cherry (2-6) in nonconference play.

Southmoreland 72, Shenango 28 — Ronnie Robinson ran for 179 yards and four touchdowns as Southmoreland (4-4) scored 43 points in the second quarter on way to defeating nonconference opponent Shenango (1-7).

The Scotties’ Zach Cernuto threw for 197 yards and two touchdowns, both to Riley Comforti, who caught seven passes for 113 yards. Santino Campoli threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns for Shenango.

West Allegheny 24, Hampton 14 — Dante Flati, Kam Kruze and Paul Newton all scored short rushing touchdowns as Class 5A No. 4 West Allegheny (6-1) beat Hampton (2-6) in nonconference play. Max Obenrader threw for two touchdowns for Hampton.
