High school roundup for April 2, 2018: Hempfield edges host Mt. Lebanon

Nick DiAndreth had three hits and two RBIs to help the Hempfield baseball team score a 6-5 win at Mt. Lebanon in a nonsection game Monday.

Luke Hudson added an RBI triple for the Class 6A No. 5-ranked Spartans (2-1), who had 11 hits. Tyler Dancu earned the win.

Mt. Lebanon (0-4) committed five errors.

Charleroi 9, Monessen 3 — Joe Ramsey had three hits and two RBIs as Charleroi improved to 2-0 with a nonsection win over Monessen (1-1).

Antonio Rhome had a double for the Greyhounds.

Softball

Norwin 2, Seneca Valley 0 — Shaelyn Gillham and Alexandra Brentzel each had RBIs to help Norwin (1-0) earn a nonsection victory on the turf at Seneca Valley (1-1). Maddy Miller, Victoria Shimko (triple) and Carly Cook also had hits for the Knights.

Natalie Krzywiec threw a two-hitter with four strikeouts and two walks to earn the victory.
