High school roundup for Feb. 12, 2025: Allderdice boys, girls reach City League finals

Lukas Stead and Asher Schwartz scored 12 points apiece as Allderdice defeated Westinghouse, 81-23, in the City League semifinals Wednesday.

Matt Kassis added 11 points and Keith Taylor and Trey Schachter had 10 points each for the Dragons (14-9). Jaymeer Wilson and Souljah Cook scored six points each for Westinghouse (2-15).

In the other semifinal, Obama Academy (11-8) earned a 65-44 win over Carrick (12-11).

Allderdice and Obama Academy will meet in the championship game at 2 p.m. Sunday at Duquesne’s UPMC Cooper Field House.

Girls basketball

Allderdice 70, Carrick 14 – Bailey White scored 29 points to lead Allderdice (18-5) in the City League semifinals. Rhyan Sledge added 19 and Peyton Lynch had 12 for the Dragons. Kaliyah Hairston and Roana Grant each scored seven for Carrick (10-12).

In the other semifinal, Obama Academy (10-10) rolled to an 85-10 win over Brashear (9-8).

Allderdice will meet Obama Academy for the championship at noon Sunday at Duquesne’s UPMC Cooper Field House.
