Claudia Ierullo scored 21 points and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart solidified its hold on first place in Section 1-3A girls basketball with a 62-25 victory over Quaker Valley on Thursday night.

Lola Garner added 12 points for the Chargers (15-2, 10-0). Mimi Thiero scored 13 for the Quakers (8-8, 6-4).

Aquinas Academy 41, Springdale 24 – Katie Tarquinio scored 12 points to lead Aquinas Academy (10-5, 7-2) to a Section 1-A win against Springdale (7-9, 4-4).

Avonworth 53, Deer Lakes 22 – Greta O’Brien scored 23 points and Emma Obersteiner added 10 to send Avonworth (9-5, 6-2) to a Section 2-3A win over Deer Lakes (11-6, 6-4).

Baldwin 56, Trinity 36 – Lynsey Bernotas scored 13 points, Julianne Ott had 12 and Isabella Niles added 11 to lead Baldwin (9-8, 4-4) to a Section 4-5A win. Gabby Rieg scored 12 points and Sutton Williamson and Riley Venick had 10 points apiece for Trinity (8-7, 3-6).

Bentworth 42, Jefferson-Morgan 32 – Kayla O’Dell led all scorers with 18 points as Bentworth (7-10, 3-3) secured a Section 3-2A win over Jefferson-Morgan (1-14, 0-5). Ava Wood paced the Rockets with eight points.

Bethel Park 61, Uniontown 34 – Fiona O’Neill scored 18 points to lead Bethel Park (8-8, 5-3) to a Section 4-5A victory. Ella Sabatos added 16 and Sadie Orie had 13 for the Black Hawks. Emily Myers scored 10 for Uniontown (5-12, 1-7).

Blackhawk 41, Hopewell 24 – Aubrey Hupp scored 15 points to lead Blackhawk (14-2, 8-0) to a Section 2-4A win. Caylee Sundy scored eight points for Hopewell (5-11, 3-5).

Burgettstown 59, Northgate 16 – Andi Midler scored 24 points and Savanna Rush produced 15 as Burgettstown (7-10, 3-3) rolled past Northgate (1-15, 0-5) in Section 2-2A.

Burrell 50, Derry 18 – Casey Brancato scored 19 points and Jules Fisher added 15 for Burrell (11-5, 6-3) in Section 1-4A. Jane Huss led Derry (3-12, 1-9) with 10 points.

California 55, Carmichaels 38 – Olivia Gibson scored 14 points, Lauren Hartley had 12 and Addison Gregory and Hayley Gibbons added 10 points apiece to lead California (7-4, 4-2) to a Section 3-2A win. Avery Voithofer scored 11 points for Carmichaels (1-15, 1-5).

Central Valley 47, Hampton 24 – Nyah Hayes scored 18 points to lead Central Valley (11-5, 6-2) to a Section 2-4A win. Katie Christy scored 10 points for Hampton (8-7, 3-5).

Chartiers-Houston 48, Beth-Center 22 – Ava Kolovich put up 21 points and Mylie McCrerey dropped 10 for Chartiers-Houston (11-3, 4-0) in Section 3-2A. Callie Dorsey had seven points to pace Beth-Center (10-7, 4-2).

Cheswick Christian Academy 54, Western PA School for the Deaf 28 – Grace Kostick scored 16 points and Abby Louis followed with 15 to lead Cheswick Christian (3-2) to a Southwestern Christian Athletic Conference win. Kalilah D’Angelo scored nine points to lead WPSD.

Clairton 63, West Greene 52 – Iyanna Wade scored 32 points to become her school’s all-time leading scorer as Clairton (10-3, 8-1) defeated West Greene (9-5, 3-5) in Section 2-A. Wade has 2,709 career points, moving past Kam Gissendanner (2,703) and into fifth place in WPIAL history. Jamiya Childs added 15 and Karma Fuqua 14 for the Bears. Madelyn Roberts scored 17 and Kendra Tharp finished with 15 for the Pioneers.

Elizabeth Forward 57, Mt. Pleasant 35 – Chloe Zombek led all scorers with 21 points and Kaelynn Settles contributed 10 as Elizabeth Forward (11-3, 8-0) beat Mt. Pleasant (3-13, 3-7) in Section 3-4A. Riley Drzal led the Vikings with 14 points.

Ellwood City 75, New Brighton 15 – Caitlin Kreitzer led with 23 points, Kayla Jones followed with 19 and Delaney Sturgeon added 18 for Ellwood City (9-7, 5-5) in a Section 1-3A win over New Brighton (0-13, 0-9).

Fort Cherry 67, Carlynton 22 – Emily Pfender scored a career-high 14 points, Bella Bianchini added 12 and Amarah Martino finished with 10 as Fort Cherry (13-2, 5-0) rolled to a Section 2-2A win. Carlee Huggh scored nine points to lead Carlynton (7-8, 1-4).

Geibel Catholic 67, Bishop Canevin 47 – Emma Larkin led Geibel Catholic (16-1, 9-1) with 33 points, Mallory Clemmer followed with 17 and Ava Henderson added 13 in a Section 2-A win. Kya Cooley scored 16 points and Isabella Sysak had 14 for Bishop Canevin (8-6, 3-5).

Greensburg Central Catholic 59, South Allegheny 17 – Erica Gribble hit for 25 points and Jayla Peterson added 12 to help Greensburg Central Catholic (9-3, 5-1) to a Section 2-3A win. Ella Lotz scored nine points for South Allegheny (2-12, 2-5).

Greensburg Salem 47, Kiski Area 31 – Blessing Gantt scored 19 points and Mya Heasley added 16 to lead Greensburg Salem (10-7, 4-5) to a key Section 2-5A win. Gianna DeVito scored 12 points for Kiski Area (9-6, 3-4).

Knoch 39, Highlands 33 – Neah Ewing led with 15 points and Karlee Buterbaugh followed with 12 to push Knoch (8-8, 7-2) to a Section 1-4A win. Tyarah Woody scored 20 points for Highlands (4-12, 3-7).

Latrobe 63, McKeesport 44 – Carley Berk scored 18 points and Brylee Bodnar and Maggie Maiers added 14 points apiece to lead Latrobe (9-7, 5-3) to a Section 2-5A win. Jessica Miller scored 17 points and Emily Isenberg had 12 for McKeesport (4-12, 1-7).

Laurel Highlands 81, Southmoreland 17 – Miya Harris led with 25 points, Ayrianna Sumpter followed with 23 and Aierra Jenkins added 12 for Laurel Highlands (12-5, 7-3) in a Section 3-4A win over Southmoreland (3-14, 1-9).

Leechburg 45, Western Beaver 39 – Adalyn Zanotto scored 26 points to lead Leechburg (1-12, 1-7) to a Section 1-A win. Taraji Backkur scored 18 points and Liz Squicquero had 11 for Western Beaver (3-12, 1-8).

Mapletown 39, Monessen 28 – Nicole Bacerra scored 12 points and Treslee Weston added 10 to push Mapletown (3-13, 1-7) to a Section 2-A win. Madison Johnson scored 15 points for Monessen (3-9, 1-7).

Mohawk 49, Sto-Rox 24 – Reagan Magno dropped a career-high 21 points and pulled in 12 rebounds to power Mohawk (6-11, 4-6) to a Section 1-3A win. Kamiyah Thompson scored 13 to lead Sto-Rox (6-10, 1-8).

Mt. Lebanon 56, Hempfield 47 – Payton Collins led Mt. Lebanon (10-7, 3-3) with 20 points, Cali Green had 11 and Anessa Donoghue added 10 in a Section 2-6A win. Allie Cervola scored 19 points and Ava Shipman had 10 for Hempfield (8-8, 1-5).

Neshannock 65, Laurel 19 – Payton Newman led with 15 points, Sophia Bonner followed with 12 and Anna Measel and Jaidon Nogay added 10 points apiece for Neshannock (15-2, 5-1) in a Section 1-2A win over Laurel (6-12, 2-4).

North Catholic 74, Valley 34 – Sam Weir shot 100% from the field and finished with 15 points, Brady Wehner followed with 14, Lauren Reitz added 12 and Kate Vislosky had 11 as North Catholic (14-2, 8-0) defeated Valley (2-14, 1-8) in Section 1-4A. Janelle Norman and Trinity Ingram each scored 10 points for the Vikings.

Norwin 56, Connellsville 26 – Kendall Berger scored 17 points and Lexi Heller added 10 to power Norwin (9-5, 5-1) past Connellsville (3-13, 0-6) in Section 2-6A.

Oakland Catholic 58, Freeport 11 – Josie Fontana scored 12 points and Savanna Daye added nine to help Oakland Catholic (12-2, 8-1) to a Section 1-4A win. Lilly Holloway led Freeport (4-12, 3-6) with six points.

Penn-Trafford 56, West Mifflin 25 – Torrie DeStefano put up 16 points to lead Penn-Trafford (17-0, 9-0) to a Section 2-5A win over West Mifflin (2-12, 0-7). Savaughn Wimbs scored seven points to lead the Titans.

Riverview 52, Jeannette 36 – Katerina Tsambis finished with 22 points and Isabel Chaparro drained four 3-pointers and had 16 points as Riverview (9-3, 4-1) beat Jeannette (4-11, 0-6) in Section 4-2A . Lily Bauer added 14 points for the Raiders. Navarrah Smith led all scorers with 30 points for the Jayhawks.

Rochester 53, Freedom 36 – Kamryn Newman scored 19 points, Tia Yellock finished with 16 and Marque Taylor chipped in 10 for Rochester (8-7, 4-2) in a Section 1-2A win. MacKenzie Mohrbacher scored 12 and Olivia Henderson had 10 for Freedom (3-12, 1-5).

Serra Catholic 62, Avella 21 – Bella Dumbroski led all scorers with 29 points and Abby Genes produced 15 for Serra Catholic (9-6, 7-2) in a Section 2-1A victory. Sydney Strope had 10 for Avella (7-9, 2-6).

Shady Side Academy 74, Ligonier Valley 23 – Cassie Sauer led with 26 points and Leah Buford added 10 for Shady Side Academy (16-0, 9-0) in a Section 2-3A win. Sydnee Foust scored seven points for Ligonier Valley (4-9, 2-5).

Shaler 55, Plum 25 – Reese Smetanka put up 14 points, Olivia Gieraltowski added 13 and Bayleigh Perez scored 12 for Shaler (15-2, 6-1) in a Section 1-5A win. Tamia West scored 16 points to lead Plum (4-10, 3-5).

South Park 47, Belle Vernon 27 – Hayley Bennett scored 17 points and Nika Cantakos added 12 to lead South Park (10-4, 7-2) to a Section 3-4A win. Emerson LaCarte scored eight points for Belle Vernon (8-9, 5-4).

St. Joseph 57, Eden Christian 34 – Gia Richter scored 25 points and Jocelyn Spinelli and Bella Bartolovic added 12 each to help St. Joseph (11-5, 7-2) to a Section 1-A win. Emmie Smith scored 12 and Hannah Wallace chipped in 10 for Eden Christian (4-10, 3-6).

Thomas Jefferson 71, Albert Gallatin 37 – Maggie Spell scored 18 points and Kaylee DeAngelo added 17 to lead Thomas Jefferson (15-2, 7-1) to a Section 4-5A win. Mya Glisan scored 12 points and Mikayla Shea had 11 for Albert Gallatin (7-8, 1-7).

Union 67, Sewickley Academy 19 – Led by 13 points from Addison Nogay, 12 from Kylie Fruehstorfer and 10 from Olivia Benedict, Union (16-0, 9-0) picked up a Section 1-A win. Grace Jardini led Sewickley Academy (4-10, 3-7) with 15 points.

Washington 50, Waynesburg 46 – Olivia Woods scored 19 points and Faith Partozoti added 11 to push Washington (7-10, 4-5) to a Section 3-3A win. Peyton Cowell scored 24 points and Briena Coon had 12 for Waynesburg (8-7, 3-4).

Yough 30, Ringgold 26 – Hailey Bock scored 15 points to lead Yough (10-7, 4-5) to a Section 3-4A victory over Ringgold (7-9, 1-7). Alayna Macioce had 13 points to pace the Rams.

Boys basketball

Cheswick Christian Academy 61, Western PA School for the Deaf 34 – Joseph Rosio and Brady Rochkind each scored 22 points to lead Cheswick Christian (10-5) to a Southwestern Christian Athletic Conference win. Caesar Trice and TayVin Reed each scored 13 for WPSD. Rosio hit six 3-pointers and became Cheswick Christian’s all-time leader with 178 made 3s.

Jefferson-Morgan 72, Beth-Center 40 – Jeremiah Robertson scored 25 points, Jase Bedillion had 16 and Houston Guesman added 13 to lead Jefferson-Morgan (11-5, 7-2) to a Section 3-2A win. Hull scored 12 points and Zellie had 10 for Beth-Center (8-8, 5-4).

West Greene 61, Mapletown 33 – Lane Allison dropped 21 points and Parker Burns scored 10 as West Greene (9-6, 7-2) cruised to a Section 3-2A win. Lucas Stevenson had 11 points to lead Mapletown (0-15, 0-9).

Hockey

Burrell 6, Connellsville 1 – Julian Kemp had two goals and two assists and Luke Mink and Mike Morazcyzk each added a goal and two assists to lead Burrell (12-2-1) to a Division 2 win. Logan Hause scored for Connellsville (9-5-1).

Cathedral Prep 3, Armstrong 0 – Ethan Cunningham scored twice, Chris Bruschi added a goal and two assists and Ian Brown made 17 saves to lead Cathedral Prep (11-4) to a Class 2A win over Armstrong (8-7).

Deer Lakes 6, Ringgold 4 – Ryan Grunden scored a hat trick and had an assist for Deer Lakes (11-4-1) in a Division 2 contest. Blake Tobeck scored twice and Mason Cervone added a goal for the Lancers, who came back from a 4-3 deficit to secure the win. Landon Vaccaro scored a pair of goals while Benito Pesi and Nick Mahalko each scored a goal as Ringgold (8-6-2) rallied from 3-0 down to take a 4-3 lead in the second period.

Fox Chapel 6, Hempfield 2 – Tucker Cullen scored a hat trick and had three assists to power Fox Chapel (12-2-0-0-1) to a Class 2A win over Hempfield (3-9-0-0-1). Dominic Casile had a goal and three assists while Gus Passerello and Tyler Goldstein each scored a goal for the Foxes. Mats Martz and Guerin Gardner each scored for the Spartans.

Gateway 7, Sewickley Academy 2 – Gavin Grant had two goals and an assist, Brendan Luptak also scored twice and Beau Ritson added a goal and an assist for Gateway (7-8-1) in a Division 2 win. Mario Thomas scored twice for Sewickley Academy (0-15-1).

Greensburg Salem 4, Blackhawk 3 – Ty Hutchinson scored the game-winning goal with 7:40 to play to lead Greensburg Salem (6-10) to a Class A win. Jeremiah Faulk and Luke Dieter each had a goal and an assist, Jake Fink also scored and Hayden Henry made 32 saves for Greensburg Salem. Grant Shroads had two goals and an assist and Finn Conolon added a goal and two assists for Blackhawk (8-8).

Mars 2, Indiana 1 – Jack Weaver and Jack Tirch scored and Adam Goul made 25 saves to help Mars (14-3) to a Class A win. Grayson Brunetto scored and Luke Rowe made 48 saves for Indiana (9-6-1).

Mt. Lebanon 7, Upper St. Clair 3 – Liam Shinn scored a natural hat trick and had an assist while Ben Kurta scored two goals to lead Mt. Lebanon (11-1-2) to a Class 3A win against Upper St. Clair (6-7-2). Xavier Bias and Braddox Pollett each added a goal for the Blue Devils. Eli Rankin, Nevin Shegan Siniawski and Ryan Buonomo each scored for the Panthers.

North Hills 2, Wheeling Park 1 (SO) – Brady Peterson scored and Parker Talarico made 21 saves to lead North Hills (9-7) to a shootout win in Class A. Daniel Tatich scored and Hailey Hastings made 21 saves for Wheeling Park (9-3-2).

Seneca Valley 4, Franklin Regional 2 – John Nikolajski had a hat trick, Leyton Moreau also scored and Braden Morin and Owen Martin each dished out two assists to lead Seneca Valley (11-2) to a Class 3A win. Liam Murphy scored twice and Liam Copeland had two assists for Franklin Regional (6-8-1).

Wrestling

Beaver County Christian 66, Ambridge 6 – Grayson Stroupe (107), Josiah Bosch (152), Carmine Battaglia (160), Eli Bosch (172), Jeremiah Kennedy (189) and Xavier Carter (215) had pins to lead Beaver County Christian (5-4) to a nonsection win. Quinn Tkatch (285) had a pin for Ambridge (1-9).

Belle Vernon 40, South Fayette 27 – Elijah Brown (215) recorded a pin for his 100th career victory, leading Belle Vernon (4-2) past South Fayette (0-6) in a nonsection match. Deydon Soto (139), Connor Hoffman (145), Kole Doppelheuer (160) and Skylar Gush (172) also had pins and Enzo Ortolona (114) won by major decision for the Leopards.

Connellsville 67, Chartiers Valley 3 – Tommy Gretz (107), Landon Lynn (114), Nolan Rice (121), Daniel Smith (127), Kai Vielma (139), Julian Ruggieri (145), Evan Petrovich (152), Lonzy Vielma (160), Christopher Cook (215) and Roghan Hollis (285) recorded pins as Connellsville (6-1) defeated Chartiers Valley (8-8) in a nonsection match. Cooper Lembo (172) won by major decision and Nicholas Seese won in overtime for the Falcons. Logan Connolly (133) won a decision for the Colts.
