Knoch Outlasts Allentown Central Catholic To Win PIAA Class AAA Volleyball Title

JOHNSTOWN — Knoch and Allentown Central Catholic went five games in their PIAA Class AAA championship match at Richland High School, and the Knights outlasted the Vikettes to claim the PIAA Class AAA state championship.

Knoch captured Game 1, 26-24, but Allentown Central Catholic responded with wins in Game 2 and 3, 25-17 and 25-20.

But the Knights made a rally of their own, 25-18, in Game 4, and from down 10-7 in the deciding fifth game.

The win was Knoch’s second consecutive fives-game victory. The Knights downed Montour, 3-2, in the PIAA semifinals.
