Ligonier Valley sending 4 players to Ken Lantzy All-Star game

Four Ligonier Valley football players have been picked to play in the 49 th annual Ken Lantzy All-Star game June 14 in Johnstown.

St. Francis (Pa.) recruit and state-record holding wide receiver Aaron Tutino heads the list that includes quarterback John Caldwell, defensive back Zack Beitel and lineman Blake Bridge.

Tutino owns the Pennsylvania record for career touchdown catches — 61 — and he rewrote the Rams’ record book in receiving.

The 5-foot-9 Tutino finished his career with 206 catches for 4,120 yards. Last season, he had a career-best 66 catches for 1,363 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Tutino helped lead the Rams to three consecutive Heritage Conference and Appalachian Bowl titles and three consecutive trips to the PIAA District 6 title game. The Rams won in 2016 and ‘17.

Caldwell completed 152 of 230 passes for 2,648 yards and 36 touchdowns.

Beitel had 30 tackles and team-highs with five interceptions and 12 passes defended.

Bridge had 43 tackles and two sacks.
