Pair of WPIAL teams join Trib HSSN state softball rankings

There was very little rumbling this week in the Trib HSSN state softball rankings as teams close out their regular season and prepare for their respective district playoffs.

After knocking Williams Valley out of the top spot in Class A last week, Nativity BVM takes over No. 1 as West Greene drops a spot after losing to Frazier.

Other significant changes included:

Exiting from the state rankings were Parkland, Abington Heights, Jersey Shore, Bald Eagle and Bristol.

New to this week’s top five are Warwick, Spring Grove and Karns City, along with a pair of WPIAL teams in Elizabeth Forward and Leechburg.

Here is the latest PIAA Top 5 in each of the six classifications through May 9.
