Pittsburgh high school roundup: Upper St. Clair tops Chartiers Valley to win host tournament

Kyle Meinert had 25 points as Upper St. Clair defeated Chartiers Valley, 63-59, to win its host tournament Saturday night and improve to 2-0.
Joe Pipilo scored a game-high 34 points for Chartiers Valley (1-1).
Brownsville 65, Elizabeth Forward 55 — In the championship of the Brownsville tournament, Shandon Marshall poured in 27 points, as the host Falcons (2-0) earned a win. Will Greijack had 18 points and 13 rebounds for Elizabeth Forward (1-1).
Keystone Oaks 73, Seton LaSalle 63 — Tournament MVP Josh Snell had 17 points to lead Keystone Oaks (2-0) to the title at its host tournament.
Lincoln Park 71, Beaver Falls 48 — At the Midland tournament, Keeno Holmes had 24 points as Lincoln Park (1-1) earned a victory. The Leopards started the game on a 14-1 run.
Mt. Lebanon 92, Montour 71 — A day after hitting 11 3-pointers, Antonio Garofoli had seven more and scored 30 points to lead Mt. Lebanon (2-0) to a victory at its host tournament.
Penn Hills 62, Hickory 53 — Cameron Wiley had 20 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, and Daivon Stephens scored 17 to lift Penn Hills (2-0) to a win at the Midland tournament.
Peters Township 62, West Allegheny 60 — Colin Cote had 20 points as Peters Township (2-0) won at its host tournament. Isaiah Crowe had 19 points to lead West Allegheny (0-2).
Seneca Valley 70, Penn-Trafford 67 — David Ritchie led four players in double figures with 21 points as the Raiders finished 2-0 in the Hempfield tip-off tournament. Chris Hart and Gabe Lawson scored 14 apiece and Marcus Might had 12 for the Raiders, who forced a turnover with 18.4 seconds remaining to seal it.
Sean Kelly led all scorers with 23 points and Zach Rocco added 17 for the Warriors (1-1), who made nine 3-pointers.
Sewickley Academy 70, Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 42 — Isaiah Smith scored 19 points as Sewickley Academy (2-0) beat Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic (0-2) at the Peters Township/Baldwin Tournament. Jett Roesing scored 18 points, Isiah Warfield 12, David Groetsch 11 and Nate Ridgeway 10 in the win. Smith, Warfield, Groetsch and Ridgeway each added seven rebounds. Mike Drambel's 16 points led Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic.
Shady Side Academy 68, Serra Catholic 61 (OT) — Skyy Moore had 15 points to lift Shady Side Academy (2-0) to a win at the Serra Catholic tournament. Khalil Smith had 23 points, including a game-tying 3, to send the game to overtime. Jimmy Moon had 14 points and 16 rebounds for the host Eagles.
Blackhawk 66, North Hills 44 — Mackenzie Amalia had 24 points and nine steals to lead Blackhawk (2-0) to the North Hills Tournament championship game win over North Hills (1-1). Tournament MVP Mady Aulbach scored 18 points and Ava Haddox added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 34, Oakland Catholic 27 — In the championship game of the Oakland Catholic Tournament, Tess Myers scored 14 points to lead Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic (2-0) to the win over the host team. Sierra DeAngelo scored 12 points to lead Oakland Catholic (1-1).
Central Valley 58, Knoch 38 — Allyson Kirby's 14 points led four players in double-figures as Central Valley (2-0) beat Knoch (0-2) at the Montour Tournament. Kaelyn Underwood and Christiane Frye each scored 11 points and Hannah Engelman added 10 for Central Valley, which held Knoch to one first-quarter point. Casey Kretzer and Hannah Rowe each scored 11 points to pace Knoch.
Chartiers Valley 53, Penn Hills 49 — Megan McConnell scored 23 points and Lauren Wagner added 22 to lead Chartiers Valley (1-1) over Penn Hills (0-2) at the North Allegheny Tournament. Chartiers Valley went to the line 31 times, hitting 21 free throws. Tayonna Robertson scored 21 points to lead Penn Hills while Adia Brisker added 14 points.
Lincoln Park 27, Winchester Thurston 26 — Riley Arrigo hit a 3-pointer with seven seconds left to give Lincoln Park (1-0) the victory over Winchester Thurston (0-1) at the Midland Tournament at Geneva College. Arrigo finished with 13 points while Nya Nicholson scored a game-high 17 points to lead Winchester Thurston.
Upper St. Clair 66, South Fayette 60 (OT) — In the championship game of the South Fayette tournament, Kate Groninger scored 19 points to lead Upper St. Clair (2-0) to the overtime victory over host South Fayette (1-1). Liv McClellaend added 15 points in the win while Maura Castelluci and Jordan Caputo scored 21 and 17 points, respectively, for South Fayette.
South Fayette had seven place-winners en route to claiming the annual Chartiers-Houston Invitational title. Colin Dunn (126 pounds), Eli Brinsky (145) and Mike Cusick (152) all finished second to lead the Lions, who had 158 points.
Upper St. Clair (155), Peters Township (146.5), Freedom (136.5) and Albert Gallatin (127) rounded out the top five.
The champions included: South Park's Joey Fischer (106 pounds), Elizabeth Forward's Ryan Michaels (113), Pine-Richland's Nate Lukez (120) and Cole Spencer (160), Freedom's Kenny Duschek (126) and Trent Schultheis (132), Upper St. Clair's Tom Kyle (138) and Jake Slinger (220), South Side's Joe Demore (145) and Bishop McCoy (285), Frazier's Thayne Lawrence (152), Conneaut's Peyton Hearn (170), Albert Gallatin's Tim Wallace (182) and Beth-Center's Dominic Fundy (195).
