By Mike Azadian
In the AAA championship Yurovsky won her third straight title in easy fashion defeating Pine Richland's Taylor Perz by a score of 6-1, 6-2. Yurovsky a Michigan recruit and ranked in the top 20 nationwide used strong ground strokes, and did not make many errors. She kept Perz running on the baseline thru out the match and was just too strong for her. " I played very well today, I like playing inside" said Yurovsky after the match. On what she may need to improve as she heads to the PIAA state championships and next year to Michigan, "I feel like I need to work on my fitness and also my serve" Yurovsky was in the championship match for the 4th straight year winning the last three in easy fashion. She seemed a bit sad after the match realizing her high school Tennis career is nearing an end, but is excited about going to Michigan. " I love Michigan, the coaches and team really felt right. I knew that's where I wanted to go."

By Mike Azadian
In the AA championship match Sarah Sahshura of Brownsville won a hard fought battle over newcomer Eva Sung from Sewickley Academy by a score of 1-6, 6-4, 6-2. Sashura did not play well early on making mistakes and playing into Sungs power game. Sung has a tremendous first serve and looked like she was well on her way to her first WPIAL championship winning the first set with ease. Sung led 1-0 in set two before Sashura took over winning 12 of the next 17 games over 2 sets to end Sung's chance at a title. "I wasn't aggressive in the first set, I let her take over in the first set, when I started to play my game things turned around for me" Shashura said after the match. She led 4-1 in the second set when Sung came on and cut the lead to 4-3, but Shashura won 8 of the next 11 games breaking Sungs serve numerous times. Sung had many unforced errors especially on her first serve, and you could see it affected her. Shashura now has three WPIAL singles titles winning the girls title in 2008 while attending California, winning the Boys title in 2010 attending California, and taking this last title as a member of Brownsville high school.
