Whether you are a fan of your local district team or you like to know what’s going on in high school football around Pennsylvania, the TribLive High School Sports Network has you covered this fall.

We rank the top WPIAL teams in each class every Sunday and follow up with our PIAA state rankings every Monday during the high school football season.

There was another change at the top after Week 1, this time in Class 4A as Thomas Jefferson jumped from No. 5 to No. 1 after Imhotep Charter, Berks Catholic and Bethlehem Catholic all lost this weekend.

Archbishop Wood had the weekend off, so defending WPIAL champ and PIAA runner-up Gateway jumped over the idle Vikings to the No. 2 spot in Class 5A.

In a head-to-head matchup of ranked District 10 teams last week, Class A top-ranked Farrell beat Class 2A No. 2 Wilmington.

In Week 2, there are a pair of head-to-head games when Class 4A No. 4 Bishop McDevitt visits 3A No. 2 Middletown in District 3, and No. 2 Jeannette hosts No. 4 Imani Christian in Class A in a WPIAL Eastern Conference showdown.

Here is the PIAA Top 5 in each of the six classifications prior to Week 2. Their ranking from last week is the number in parenthesis after their record.
