Winchester Thurston School Names Director of Athletics
Cedric ‘CB’ Brown takes the helm after national search
Pittsburgh, Pa. (March 6, 2020) – Winchester Thurston School (WT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cedric ‘CB’ Brown as Director of Athletics, effective July 1, 2020.
Brown joins the Pittsburgh independent school from Normandy School District in St. Louis, Missouri, where he oversees curriculum design and development for the physical education program and is involved in middle school athletics programming. In addition, CB organizes skills training and development for local youth in the greater metropolitan St. Louis area.
While earning his B.S. in Recreation Education from Herbert H. Lehman College, CB was named the Most Outstanding Student-Athlete. He continued his education at South Dakota State University, where he earned an M.S. in Sport Pedagogy. He is currently completing his Ph.D. in Organizational Development and Leadership through Ashford University.

Fech, Ph.D. “He brings extensive experience in athletics management and leadership and is passionate about the power of athletics in instilling values and character.
