I am a current senior student athlete at Canon McMillan High School. I am a two sport athlete and have played lacrosse and volleyball all 4 years. This year, my volleyball team won the WPIAL Class 4a title, beating 65-0 North Allegheny. We also were section champions for the first time since 2013. I served as team captain and was a starter. As a freshman, I decided that I wanted to focus on lacrosse and pursue it in college. I have been a 4 year starter for my team and currently hold two school records. I have scored the most goals in school history (172), and the most in a single season (88.) I also helped lead my team to playoffs for the first time ever last year. I was so excited for my final season. My goal was to hit my 200th career goal and also lead my team to a deeper playoff run than last year. I am a WPIAL All Section All Star and was also selected to represent Pittsburgh in the National Tournament last year. Making the National Team was a huge goal of mine as only 20 players in the Wpial are selected. My fellow teammate Maura O’Donogue was also selected, and it was so fun to compete at such a high level together. I strive to be a well rounded student. I have maintained a 4.4 GPA and in this last quarter I received a 4.54. I am a member of NHS and The Spanish National Honor Society where I serve as Secretary. In my community, I have volunteered 430 hours at a local hospital and am a lector at my church. Although my lacrosse season being canceled is devastating, I know that this is just the beginning. I am so excited to compete on the Slippery Rock Lacrosse team and play for a great program. I know that the hard work and dedication I spent training for the season will carry with me to Slippery Rock.
