Every Tuesday during the 2018 WPIAL football season, the TribLive High School Sports Network will release weekly Power Rankings. These rankings have zero classification boundaries.

Once again, eight teams from the Trib 10 from last week were winners.

Central Catholic had been part of the power rankings from Day 1, but the Vikings’ first quarter to forget in which they fell behind Pine-Richland, 35-7, was enough to push them out of the top 10 for now.

This is the fourth straight week the No. 10 team has come and gone from the Trib 10 as Derry tasted defeat for the first time at the hands of Elizabeth Forward. Can South Fayette break the No. 10 curse?

Week 6 has no head-to-head contests, but both No. 2 Gateway and No. 7 Jeannette will be challenged by unbeaten teams knocking on the door of the Trib 10. Many of the top games on Friday night can be heard on Trib HSSN.

Here are the rankings heading into Week 6.
