TUESDAY

Softball: Only one team will advance to the PIAA playoffs in an all-local matchup. Penn-Trafford and Franklin Regional, Section 1 foes who both lost in the WPIAL semifinals, will meet at 5 p.m. at Seton Hill in the WPIAL Class 5A third-place game.

Baseball: Franklin Regional and Yough came up short in their bids to reach the WPIAL finals but both can still qualify for the PIAA postseason. They play back-to-back at Washington & Jefferson. Yough takes on New Castle at 2 p.m. in Class 4A, followed by Franklin Regional and Mars at 4:30 in Class 5A.

Boys volleyball: The PIAA playoffs begin with first-round matches. Derry will be in action after winning the WPIAL third-place match on Thursday.

WEDNESDAY

THURSDAY

Softball: A pair of local teams will play for WPIAL championships, including Hempfield, which will go for a WPIAL five-peat.
