WPIAL Boys Basketball – 2010-2011 Season Review

2010-2011 turned out to be the season of the virgin winners in boys basketball. Three schools won WPIAL boys basketball championships for the first time in school history – Gateway in Class AAAA, Montour in Class AAA and Vincentian Academy in Class A. The only winner with a history of district titles was Monessen, as they captured their fifth boys basketball crown. The surprisingly, FOUR boys basketball teams from the WPIAL advanced to the PIAA state title games, however Mount Lebanon in AAAA, Montour in AAA, Greensburg Central Catholic in AA and Lincoln Park in A all lost and settled for silver in not-so Happy Valley. Here is a look back at the 2010-2011 boys basketball campaign with the final regular season standings along with the results from both the WPIAL and PIAA Boys Basketball Playoffs.
