2 WPIAL recruits add Duke football offers, face busy month ahead

Two of the WPIAL’s top underclassmen recruits announced Duke football scholarships offers Wednesday with more offers likely to come this month.
Gateway freshman Derrick Davis and Mars sophomore Michael Carmody each received offers from Blue Devils assistant Matt Guerrieri, the team’s co-defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator, who was visiting Western Pennsylvania.
College football coaches are able to visit high schools during an evaluation period on the NCAA recruiting calendar that lasts until June 1.
Davis (6-0, 170) is a defensive back with offers from Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, Baylor, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Michigan State, Ohio State, Temple and Toledo.
Carmody (6-6, 260) is a lineman with offers from Pitt, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Maryland, Temple, Toledo and Wisconsin.
