The east continues to be the beast when it comes to high school hockey in the keystone state.

For the sixth straight season, the Flyers Cup winners defeated the Penguins Cup winners in two of the three Pennsylvania Cup state title games.

In the annual event Saturday at the RMU Island Sports Complex, Seneca Valley, North Penn and Garnet Valley were crowned state champions.

For the Raiders, it was the first Pennsylvania Cup in program history, five days after they won their first PIHL Class 3A Penguins Cup title.

Also this season, the PA Challenge Cup was played to crown the first Division 2 state champion. Burrell defeated Pope John Paul II to win that inaugural honor.
