Editor’s note: Each day through Aug. 3, Trib HSSN will profile one member of the 2025 Trib 25 preseason high school football all-star team.

Peters Township football coach T.J. Plack said there is something special about senior Nolan DiLucia.

The four-year starter at safety and three-year starter at quarterback commands the locker room.

“He’s the alpha male in the locker room,” Plack said. “He makes everyone around him better.”

DiLucia helped lead the Indians to a WPIAL Class 5A title and PIAA runner-up finish as a sophomore and to the WPIAL 5A championship game as a junior.

And while DiLucia said winning another WPIAL title is the team’s goal, his mindset is winning every game he plays.

“He hates to lose,” Plack said. “He makes me look good if I call a bad play.”

DiLucia picked Villanova for various reasons, one being the stability of the coaching staff.

“They have been there for years, and I do not see them leaving,” DiLucia said. “I love everything about the campus. It is a great place.”

DiLucia picked Villanova over eight other Division I schools.

He is one of those players who will play anywhere on the field.

“I also punt, long snap and I have been the holder on extra points and field goals,” DiLucia said. “I would play any position for the team.”

His favorite position in quarterback.

He completed 174 of 270 passes for 2,525 yards and 28 touchdowns as a junior. He threw only eight interceptions. He also rushed for 506 yards and four touchdowns.

As a sophomore, he led the WPIAL in passing by completing 229 of 379 passes for 3,131 and 30 touchdowns. He was intercepted 11 times and rushed for 489 yards and eight touchdowns.

“If we win every game, winning titles will take care of itself,” DiLucia said. “We have something special going on at Peters Township. The senior class is really tight. It is a brotherhood.”

DiLucia and some of his teammates recently went camping for the weekend for some camaraderie before the season begins.

Peters Township lost to Pine-Richland in the WPIAL final and to Upper St. Clair (21-7), its rival, during the regular season. The Indians defeated USC, 7-3, in the WPIAL playoffs.

“It’s always a good game against Upper St. Clair,” DiLucia said. “Pine-Richland has a great program. I always look forward to playing them.”
