Here’s a look at the TribLive HSSN baseball all-stars for the 2025 season.
Terrific 10
Keegan Deihl
Pine-Richland, sr., P
In a season where standout pitching was the story across the WPIAL, Deihl showed one of the top arms. The Baylor recruit went 10-1 with a 2.04 ERA and led Pine-Richland to the WPIAL Class 5A finals. A 6-foot-3 right-hander, Deihl’s career record is 20-1.
Anthony Grippo
Greensburg Central Catholic, jr., C
One of the WPIAL’s top catchers, Grippo batted a league-leading .648 with 11 doubles and two triples. He scored 30 times and drove in 26 runs. Already committed to Penn State, Grippo helped the Centurions reach the WPIAL Class A semifinals.
Zach Hare
Riverside, sr., P/1B
Hare led Riverside to WPIAL and PIAA Class 3A titles while throwing 34 consecutive no-hit innings in the playoffs. The 6-foot-4 right-hander went 10-0 with a 0.68 ERA and 138 strikeouts in 72 1/3 innings. The Slippery Rock recruit also batted .405 with 26 RBIs. His career record was 21-1.
Cy Herchelroath
Elizabeth Forward, sr., P/OF
With both his arm and his bat, Herchelroath helped the Warriors reach the WPIAL Class 4A finals. The 6-3 left-hander was 7-1 with a 1.46 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 67 innings pitched. An Akron recruit, he also batted .377 with 24 RBIs.
Cooper Hochendoner
South Park, jr., P/1B/OF
Another of the WPIAL’s best two-way players, Hochendoner went 11-1 with a 0.80 ERA on the mound with 155 strikeouts in 86 2/3 innings for the WPIAL and PIAA Class 3A semifinalists. He also batted .342 with 15 RBIs and stole 12 bases.
Mason Metz
Avonworth, sr., C
A multi-sport athlete who also earned a spot on the Trib’s Terrific 25 for football, Metz ranked among the WPIAL leaders with eight home runs. The Seton Hill-bound catcher batted .533 with 23 RBIs for the section champion Antelopes.
Greg Minnick
Indiana, sr., P
The Indians, who had two aces on the mound, won WPIAL and PIAA Class 4A titles thanks to that pitching. Minnick, a 6-2 right-hander, went 10-0 with a 0.76 ERA. The Texas Tech recruit struck out 78 batters in 43 innings, and opponents batted .086.
Ryan Okopal
Indiana, sr., P
Okopal was the other half of a dominant tandem for a team that finished 26-1. The 6-1 right-hander went 8-0 with a 0.41 ERA. A Mercyhurst recruit, Okopal struck out 66 batters in 50 2/3 innings. Opponents batted .084 against him.
Tyler Skaggs
Serra Catholic, sr., P/SS
Skaggs was arguably the top hitter and pitcher for the WPIAL Class A champion — and tossed a no-hitter in the finals. The 6-1 right-hander posted a 7-1 record with a 0.98 ERA, while also batting .426 with 32 runs and 34 RBIs.
Colby Weber
Shaler, sr., P
