How they got here: Hampton defeated Indiana, 9-0, in the quarterfinal; and Beaver, 4-0, in the semifinals.
Notable: Hampton was in this spot a year ago, but lost to Elizabeth Forward in the finals. Hampton was undefeated in Section 3-4A at 12-0. The Talbots lost Mackenzie Reese (Pitt) to graduation last season. Hampton swept Blackhawk in section play this season, 9-5 and 2-1. Freshman Alena Zottola is batting a team-best .455. Snyder is hitting .433, and Michielli is hitting .394 with 20 RBIs. Snyder has a 1.81 ERA with 111 strikeouts. Coach Katie Hedderman is in her second season at the helm for the Talbots.

How they got here: Blackhawk beat Western Beaver, 14-4, in the first round; West Mifflin, 6-0, in the quarterfinals; and Elizabeth Forward, 3-0, in the semifinals.
Notable: Blackhawk has won five straight games. The Cougars average 6.5 runs and allow just 2.6. Hysong is batting .621, and Ramer is hitting .481. Prisuta has a 2.84 ERA in the circle. In the semifinals, Prisuta, Rodu and Lindner all knocked in runs, and Hyson was 3 for 3. Blackhawk coach Jim Riggio also serves as the school’s athletic director. He is in his ninth year coaching the softball team. Blackhawk finished fourth in its section last season, with six section losses and lost to Hampton in the semifinals last season.
