2026 WPIAL basketball quarterfinals recap

We are halfway through the WPIAL boys and girls basketball playoffs with two rounds in the books and two more coming in the next week.

While there were some scares for the top seeds in the quarterfinals, only one district No. 1 is not moving on to the semifinals after 2025 boys Class 3A champion South Allegheny stunned top-seed Mohawk on Friday.

The semifinals are Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, with the district championship games from the University of Pittsburgh set for Thursday through Saturday.

Before looking ahead to the final four, here are all of the results along with leading scorers from the WPIAL basketball first round and quarterfinals.
