The March to Mechanicsburg is complete as five WPIAL and one City League team will be part of the six-pack heading to Cumberland Valley High School and the PIAA football finals this week.

This will be the second time District 7 sends as many as five teams to the football state championship games.

In 2021, Mt. Lebanon in 6A, Penn-Trafford in 5A, Aliquippa in 4A and Central Valley in 3A all won PIAA gold while Serra Catholic in 2A settled for state silver.

A year ago, four District 7 teams played at Cumberland Valley with Pine-Richland in 5A and Belle Vernon in 3A winning a PIAA title while Aliquippa in 4A and Union in A were state runners-up.

The district breakdown: WPIAL has five teams, District 12 has two teams, and one team each from Districts 11, 8, 4, 3 and 2.

Here is the schedule for all of the high school football games this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, along with the results from the PIAA opening round, quarterfinals and semifinals.
