6 WPIAL teams advance to PIAA baseball semifinals

Midway through the 2025 PIAA baseball playoffs and there are six WPIAL teams remaining in the hunt for state gold.

Following a loss by Class 6A champ Seneca Valley in the quarterfinals, four WPIAL winners are alive for double gold with Shaler in Class 5A, Indiana in 4A, Riverside in 3A and Freedom in 2A.

The two other teams still playing through two rounds of the state playoffs are district consolation winners South Park in 3A and Eden Christian Academy in A.

One WPIAL team is guaranteed a trip to the PIAA finals as Riverside and South Park meet in a Class 3A rematch of their 12-inning WPIAL semifinal contest won 1-0 by the Panthers.

Here are the sites and times for Monday’s semifinals, along with results from the first round and quarterfinals of the state baseball playoffs.
