7 WPIAL lacrosse teams to play in PIAA quarterfinals

Considering the history where district teams went one and done many years, the WPIAL more than held its own in the first round of the PIAA lacrosse playoffs.

District 7 teams were a combined 4-2 on the boys side and 3-3 in the girls brackets.

One of the five that fell was WPIAL Class 2A girls champion Mars, which lost suddenly at home to Twin Valley, 11-10 in overtime.

Here are the sites and times for Saturday’s PIAA quarterfinals, plus all the opening round results from the boys and girls state lacrosse playoffs.
