Notable: This is believed to be the first meeting between two of the top programs in WPIAL Class 4A. … The Jaguars are looking for their fourth straight WPIAL championships, hoping to join Braddock in the 1950s and Clairton from 2008-12 as the only WPIAL teams to accomplish the feat. … Cherpak is chasing his eighth WPIAL title, which would tie West Allegheny’s Bob Palko for most in WPIAL history. … The Jaguars average the most points for (49.7) and against (8.9) in Class 4A. Their closest margin of victory was a 36-14 win over Belle Vernon in Week 2. … South Fayette has rolled to 11 straight wins after a 34-33 loss to Upper St. Clair in Week Zero. … The Lions average 39.1 points and allow 10.0. They have posted five shutouts. … South Fayette is making its fifth title-game appearance in nine seasons. … The Lions have won 57 straight conference games. … TJ has won 11 of the past 13 conference titles and have gone undefeated in the regular season five of the past seven years. … The Jaguars have reached the playoffs 24 straight years, tied with Aliquippa for the longest active streak.
