Jenna Clark scored 26 points as Thomas Jefferson knocked off Moon in a Section 1-5A girls basketball game Thursday night.

The Jaguars (3-1, 1-0) opened a 22-10 lead in the first quarter.

Freshman Reilly Sunday scored 31 points and added 10 rebounds and five steals for Moon (2-2, 0-1).

North Allegheny 54, Shaler 27 — Rachel Martindale poured in 17 points as No. 1 North Allegheny (4-0, 2-0) won a Section 1-6A game. Emily Cavacini scored 18 for Shaler (0-4, 0-1).

Seneca Valley 56, North Hills 46 — McKenna Gross scored 28 points to guide Seneca Valley (4-0, 1-0) to a Section 1-6A victory.

Mt. Lebanon 42, Connellsville 28 — Jamey Napoleon and Morgan Palmer each scored 11 points to lift No. 5 Mt. Lebanon (2-2, 1-0) to a Section 2-6A win.

Peters Township 60, Baldwin 30 — Makenna Marissa had 22 points, and Isabella Mills added 18 as No. 2 Peters Township (4-0, 1-0) won in Section 2-6A. The Indians jumped out to a 34-17 lead at halftime.

Upper St. Clair 45, Canon-McMillan 34 — Lindsay Meyer had 17 points and Sarah Price added 16 as Upper St. Clair (3-1, 1-0) won in Section 2-6A.

South Fayette 56, Montour 41 — Clare Relihan had 19 points, and Maura Castelluci added 15 as South Fayette (4-0, 1-0) won a Section 1-5A matchup.

Armstrong 46, Hampton 42 (OT) — In Section 2-5A, Jaylen Callipare scored 22 points to help Armstrong (2-2, 1-0) earn an overtime victory.

Uniontown 61, Laurel Highlands 45 — Kelsey Rose scored 27 points for Uniontown (1-3, 1-0) in a Section 3-5A win. Taylor Smith poured in 34 points, including five 3-pointers, for Laurel Highlands (2-2, 0-1).

North Catholic 87, Indiana 28 — Tess Myers had 20 points and Kylee Lewandowski added 19 as No. 1 North Catholic (1-0, 1-0) won in Section 1-4A.

Avonworth 69, Beaver Falls 46 — Hayden Robinson scored 30 points to guide No. 2 Avonworth (2-1, 1-0) to a Section 1-3A victory.

South Park 66, McGuffey 29 — Maura Huwalt scored 22 points and added 20 rebounds to help No. 3 South Park (2-2, 1-0) earn a Section 2-3A win.

East Allegheny 63, Steel Valley 38 — Amaia Johnson had 25 points, and Abby Henderson added 18 as No. 5 East Allegheny (4-0, 1-0) won a Section 3-3A game.

Eden Christian 60, Union 46 — Taylor Haring had 29 points as Eden Christian Academy (2-2, 1-0) won in Section 1-A. LaDaijsa Fitzpatrick had 26 points for Union (0-4, 0-1).

Latrobe 68, Albert Gallatin 57 — Rachel Ridilla had 24 points, including four 3-pointers, as Latrobe won its Section 3-5A girls basketball opener.

Carly Augustine added 23 points for the Wildcats (3-0, 1-0).

Jeannette 85, Springdale 14 — Dymond Crawford had a triple-double as Jeannette (2-2, 1-0) won a Section 2-2A game. She scored 32 points and added 10 rebounds and 13 steals. She also had eight assists. Asia Mack scored 28 points in the win.

Bethel Park 66, Hempfield 39 — Madelyn Dziezgowski had 16 points and was one of five players in double figures for Bethel Park (4-0, 1-0) in a Section 2-6A win. Sarah Liberatore had 14 points to lead Hempfield (2-2, 0-2).

Gateway 57, Franklin Regional 34 — Lexi Jackson had 19 points, 16 rebounds and 10 blocks as No. 5 Gateway (4-0, 1-0) won in Section 2-5A. Franklin Regional (2-2, 0-1) trailed 26-15 at halftime.

Freeport 71, Greensburg Salem 56 — Fueled by a 39-point first half, Freeport notched a Section 1-4A win. Sidney Shemanski scored 24 points to lead Freeport (2-1, 1-0). Harley Holloway scored 17 points, Samantha Clark added 12 and Madeline Clark scored 11 for the Yellowjackets. Megan Kallock scored a game-high 28 points for Greensburg Salem (1-3, 0-1).

Belle Vernon 54, Ringgold 17 — Lindsay Steeber scored 17 points to pace Belle Vernon (1-3, 1-0) in a Section 3-4A win. Grace Henderson added 12 points for the Leopards, who led 31-8 at halftime.

Elizabeth Forward 54, Mt. Pleasant 39 — Julia Jenkins had 15 points to lead Elizabeth Forward (3-1, 2-0) to a Section 3-4A win. Juliann Kalp scored 15 points to pace Mt. Pleasant, which fell behind 18-8 in the first quarter.

West Mifflin 46, Southmoreland 42 — Shelby Genes hit a free throw with 2.7 seconds left to seal a Section 3-4A win for West Mifflin (2-1, 1-0). Southmoreland (4-1, 0-1) suffered its first loss of the season.

West Greene 70, Monessen 23 — Madison Lampe had 16 points to guide No. 1 West Greene (4-1, 1-0) to a Section 2-A win. Sydney Caterino, Marqula Green and Qitarah Hardison all had six points for Monessen (0-5, 0-1).

Knoch 58, Highlands 15 — Lauren Cihonski scored 20 points as Knoch notched a Section 1-4A win in convincing fashion over Highlands. Madilyn Boyer added nine points for Knoch (3-1, 1-0). Sarah Sawhook led Highlands (1-2, 0-1) with seven points.

Deer Lakes 37, South Allegheny 28 Deer Lakes outscored South Allegheny, 14-8, in the fourth quarter to pull away for a Section 3-3A victory. Reese Hasley had a game-high 14 points for Deer Lakes (4-0, 1-0). Syndey Kirkwood scored 10 points for the Gladiators (1-3, 0-1).

Riverview 47, Ellis School 37 Riverview (1-3) was tied with Ellis School (3-1) at halftime, but outscored the Tigers, 15-7, in the third quarter to take control in a Section 2-2A win. Francesca Lio paced the Raiders with a game-high 20 points and Olivia Watts scored 15. Natalie Jasper led the Tigers with 15 points.

Mars 73, Kiski Area 35 Kiski Area (1-3, 0-1) stayed within striking distance of Class 5A No. 2 Mars (4-0, 1-0) for much of the first half, but was outscored 22-3 in the third quarter in a Section 2 loss. Hannah Potter led the Cavaliers with 12 points. Tai Johnson had a game-high 27 points for Mars, and Bella Pelaia scored 15.

Boys basketball

Carrick 69, Belle Vernon 55 — Aronde Camp had 26 points as Carrick (3-2) won a nonsection game. Mitch Pohlot had 11 points to lead Belle Vernon (0-4), which led 25-15 in the first quarter. Carrick limited the Leopards to 18 points in the second half.

Ligonier Valley 69, Northern Cambria 28 — Marrek Paola had 19 points, and Michael Marinchak added 14 points and eight assists as Ligonier Valley (4-0, 2-0) won in the District 6 Heritage Conference.

Knoch 83, Indiana 47 — Julian Sanks scored 25 points, including six 3-pointers, as Knoch cruised to a nonsection win over Indiana (2-2). Adam Bajuzik scored 11 points and Jared Schrecengost chipped in 10 points for Knoch (2-2). Alec Petroff scored 26 for Indiana, while Luke Thomas added 13.

Burgettstown 65, Chartiers-Houston 60 — Dante Gianfrancesco had 19 points, and Scott Ferris added 18 as Burgettstown (3-1) won a nonsection game.
