The No. 1 boys basketball team in Class 4A is undefeated no more.

Sammy Fusetti had 21 points, and James Darno added 19, as Blackhawk defeated top-ranked Quaker Valley, 70-69, in overtime Friday night in a Section 2-4A game.

Ryan Heckathorn had 10 points for Blackhawk (4-8, 2-3).

Ryan Stowers had 36 points, and Danny Conlan added 17 for The Quakers (10-1, 4-1).

Beaver 61, Hopewell 43 — Also in Section 2-4A, Mike Champ had 15 points and Peter Kazas had 14 as Beaver (1-9, 1-4) earned a victory. The Bobcats opened the game with a 20-6 run.

New Castle 67, Central Valley 54 — Led by 25 points from Demetris McKnight, No. 2 New Castle (9-2, 4-1) won a Section 2-4A game.

Butler 76, Central Catholic 57 — Ethan Morton had 27 points to guide No. 5 Butler (10-3, 3-1) to a win in Section 1-6A.

Pine-Richland 92, North Hills 67 — Dan Petcash had 29 points, and Greg Shulkosky added 26 as No. 3 Pine-Richland (11-2, 4-0) secured a Section 1-6A win. Shulkosky added 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the win. Jordan Albright tallied 32 points for North Hills (4-8, 0-4).

Canon-McMillan 77, Baldwin 53 — Luke Palma had 23 points, and Tommy Samosky scored 21 to lead Canon-McMillan (8-5, 2-2) to a Section 2-6A win.

Albert Gallatin 51, Gateway 49 – Dylan Shea and Nate English each had 18 points to lift Albert Gallatin (2-9, 2-3) to a Section 1-5A win.

Montour 57, Chartiers Valley 49 – Jaden Nelson tallied 17 points, and Alex Boyden added 15 as Montour (7-6, 4-2) knocked off No. 5 Chartiers Valley (8-3, 4-2) in a Section 2-5A game. Joe Pipilo had 19 points for the Colts.

Moon 78, Thomas Jefferson 47 – Donovan Johnson had 26 points to lead No. 2 Moon (12-0, 5-0) to a Section 2-5A victory.

South Fayette 60, West Mifflin 46 — Connor Mislan had 16 points to lead South Fayette (7-5, 3-3) to a Section 2-5A win.

South Park 64, Waynesburg 41 — In Section 3-4A, Santino Tutich had 17 points, and Aidan Rongaus added 16 as South Park (5-6, 3-1) earned a win. The Eagles opened the second half with a 23-9 run.

Aliquippa 67, New Brighton 29 Aliquippa opened a 19-4 lead and rolled to a Section 1-3A win. M.J. Devonshire had 19 points to lead the Quips (8-4, 4-1).

Ellwood City 58, Neshannock 55 — In Section 1-3A, Steve Anotono had 27 points, and Broc Boariu added 20 to lead Ellwood City (5-7, 1-4) to victory.

Seton LaSalle 80, Carlynton 36 — Jake Verner had 27 points to lift No. 3 Seton LaSalle (10-1, 5-0) to a win in Section 2-3A.

Washington 56, Beth-Center 50 — Dan Ethridge had 20 points and coach Ron Faust captured his 600th career victory as Washington (5-6, 4-1) won in Section 4-3A.

Sewickley Academy 73, Laurel 48 — Isiah Warfield tallied 42 points to carry No. 1 Sewickley Academy (7-3, 5-0) to a Section 3-2A victory.

Greensburg Salem 51, Laurel Highlands 40 — A fast start paid off for Greensburg Salem in a Section 1-5A victory.

The Golden Lions (7-6, 2-4) opened held a 23-9 advantage at halftime. Dante Parsons scored 13 points for Greensburg Salem.

Connellsville 27, Hempfield 24 — Jalen Rogers had 10 points for Connellsville (6-7, 2-2), which held visiting Hempfield (7-6, 0-4) to single-digit scoring in each quarter en route to a Section 3-6A win.

Highlands 76, Mt. Pleasant 57 — Luke Cochran had 15 points and 11 assists, and Dan Thimons had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Class 4A No. 4 Highlands in a Section 1 win at Mt. Pleasant (2-11, 0-4). Sam Napper led the Vikings with 21 points, and Nate Kubasky scored 16.

Knoch 85, Derry 41 Knoch set a school record with 14 3-pointers as it cruised to a Section 1-4A win. Julian Sanks led all scorers with 23 points, including seven 3-pointers. Scott Fraser scored 21 points. Ryan Lang scored 13 points, and Brady McKee added 12 for Knoch (10-3, 4-0). John Kerr had 18 points for Derry (8-4, 2-2).

Freeport 61, Yough 56 Freeport trailed by eight points at halftime, but outscored Yough, 22-10, in the third quarter to take the lead in a Section 1-4A win. Jalen Brown had a game-high 18 points for the Yellowjackets (8-3, 3-1) and Garret Schaffhauser scored 16. Jarret Bach led four Yough (4-9, 0-4) players in double figures with 16 points.

Ringgold 56, Belle Vernon 44 — Luke Wyvratt and Demetrius Butler each scored 15 points to lead Ringgold (10-3, 3-1) to a Section 3-4A win.

Mitchell Pohlot, Larry Callaway and Jake Haney all had eight points for Belle Vernon (2-12, 0-4).

Southmoreland 54, Brownsville 46 — Cade Richter had 25 points, and Riley Comforti added 15 as Southmoreland (6-6, 2-2) won in Section 4-3A.

Propel Andrew Street 38, Greensburg Central Catholic 36 — Sayvon Knight had 21 points as Propel Andrew Street (7-5, 2-4) won in Section 3-A. Geoff Helm had 18 points for GCC (7-5, 3-2), which was outscored 12-8 in the final quarter.

Monessen 76, West Greene 26 — Elijahwa Payne had 24 points, and Devin Whitlock added 19 as No. 5 Monessen (6-4, 5-0) won in Section 2-A.

Plum 69, Indiana 53 — Four Mustangs reached double-digits in scoring, led by 20 from Connor Moss, in a Section 3-5A win. Chase Fink added 18 for Plum (2-10, 2-4), while Lamar Whiting tallied 12, and Walt Holyfield had 11. The Mustangs trailed 11-5 after the first eight minutes but outscored the Indians by 22 over the second and third quarters. Luke Thomas led Indiana (2-11, 0-6) with 17 points, and Alec Petroff added 14.

St. Joseph 75, Trinity Christian 40 St. Joseph raced out to a 24-2 lead in the first quarter on its way to a Section 3-A win. Grant Bendis had 19 points for the Spartans (11-2, 5-0), Andrew Sullivan scored 12 and Dom Fellowes added 11 points. Ben Blackburn led Trinity Christian (2-6, 0-5) with 25 points.

Summit Academy 64, Springdale 58 — Despite a 30-point night from Mike Zolnierczyk, the Dynamos fell to Summit Academy in Section 1-2A play. Tavon Johnson scored 16 points, and Takoma Askew scored 14 points for Summit Academy (6-3, 5-1). Demitri Fritch tallied 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Springdale (8-4, 4-2).

Winchester Thurston 47, Apollo-Ridge 40 — Klay Fitzroy and Keighton Reese had 13 points apiece for Apollo-Ridge (6-8, 2-4) in a Section 1-2A loss at Winchester Thurston (7-4, 4-2). Dusan Krivokapic led all scorers with 15 points, and Jake Rabner scored 12 for Winchester Thurston. Jake Fello added 10 points for the Vikings.

Steel Valley 64, Burrell 45 — Logan Phillips had 16 points and connected on four 3-pointers for Burrell (3-8, 2-3) in a Section 3-3A defeat at Steel Valley (6-7, 3-3). Logan Bitar added 15 points for the Bucs and also hit four 3-pointers. Connor Vehec scored 20 points for the Ironmen, which led 34-15 at halftime.

Sto-Rox 85, Riverview 64 — Jamil Williams led five Sto-Rox players in double figures with 16 points in a Section 1-2A victory. Eric Wilson scored 15, and Davontae Johnson added 13 for Sto-Rox (7-5, 5-1). Thanny Black led the Raiders (5-6, 3-3) with 23 points, and Noah Black added 15.

Girls basketball

North Allegheny 56, Butler 24 — Rachel Martindale had 15 points to lead No. 1 North Allegheny (13-0, 6-0) to a Section 1-6A win.

Norwin 49, Shaler 27 — Olivia Gribble had 11 points, and Jayla Wehner added 10 as No. 4 Norwin (11-1, 5-1) won a Section 1-6A game.

Penn-Trafford 50, Laurel Highlands 44 — Bella Long scored 19 points, and Maura Suman added 16 as Penn-Trafford (6-6, 3-3) won a Section 3-5A game. Allie Prady added 13 for the Warriors, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Bishop Canevin 49, Bishop Kearney, N.Y. 47 Bishop Canevin Scott Dibble earned his 300th career win as the Class 2A No. 1 Crusaders (11-2) win in New York.

Marion Center 48, Ligonier Valley 41 — Jacalyn Fetsko scored 21 points to lead Marion Center (9-6, 5-2) to a District 6 Heritage Conference win. Ella Sheddy had 13 points to lead Ligonier Valley (1-11, 1-7).

Wrestling

Kiski Area 45, Burrell 18 — Class AAA No. 1 Kiski Area won nine of the final 11 bouts, including five by pinfall, to roll to a nonsection win over Class AA No. 1 Burrell. Enzo Morlacci (145 pounds), Cam Connor (152), Brayden Roscosky (195), Troy Kuhn (220) and Stone Joseph (285) registered pins for the Cavaliers (6-0), who beat the neighboring Bucs for an eighth consecutive season. Dom Giordano, Jack Blumer and Nick Delp won by decision. Shawn Szymanski, Nick Salerno, A.J. Corrado and Ricky Feroce won by decision for Burrell (4-2).

Southmoreland 41, Ligonier Valley 40 — Austin Hunker’s pin in 1 minute, 45 seconds at 113 pounds gave Southmoreland (3-2) a nonsection victory over Ligonier Valley (3-6). Austin McBeth (152 pounds), Anthony Govern (195), Brett Huffman (220) and Colt Harper (285) all had pins for the Scotties.

Payton Matson (138), Zach Pyle (145), Clayton Matson (160) and Kyrie Miller (170) all had pins for the Rams.
