Jeannette’s boys and girls soccer programs will be under new direction this fall season.

The school district this week hired a pair of head coaches: Delaney Cortazzo (girls) and Arthur Cicero (boys).

Cicero is a teacher at Adelphoi Education and a graduate of Saint Vincent, where he played soccer for four years.

Cortazzo played several sports at Jeannette and began her college softball at Fairmont State before transferring to Seton Hill, where she had a productive career.

Another former Jeannette athlete, Sydney Pecoraro, was named an assistant to Cortazzo. Pecoraro played soccer at Waynesburg.

Both Jeannette teams struggled last season. The boys, under coach Robert Rundle, finished 1-12 overall and 1-11 in Section 1-A.

The girls were 1-12-1 (0-9 Section 1-A) with coach Brian Snively.

Rundle and Snively resigned in the offseason.
