HERSHEY — The Our Lady of the Sacred Heart boys basketball team will have an opponent for the state championships.

The game was in question over covid-19 concerns, but the Class 2A final against Constitution will be played as schedule at 2:30 p.m. Friday, PIAA executive director Bob Lombardi said. Constitution underwent rapid covid testing Thursday with help from the Philadelphia health department, he said, and district administrators reported that everyone on the team tested negative.

The uncertainty arose after Constitution’s semifinal opponent, Old Forge, reported a positive covid-19 case. The two teams played Tuesday and Constitution won 62-60.

The PIAA was initially concerned school policies would require Constitution’s players to quarantine, but instead were able to secure quick testing.
