There were several state ranked girls basketball teams that tasted defeat this past, but only a few slipped out of the Trib HSSN state Top 5.

There were several cases of teams losing to teams from out of state or from higher classifications that did not affect their ranking, or they slipped down a notch or two but preserved their place among the elite in Pa. girls scholastic hoops for the week.

However, three teams were not so fortunate as Pennsbury in 6A, Lancaster Country Day in 2A and Jenkintown in A were bounced out this week.

Taking their places were Easton, Serra Catholic and Union in that order.

Speaking of order, the top of each class went unchanged from last week, with one exception, as North Allegheny (6A), Cardinal O’Hara (5A), Archbishop Wood (4A), Mount Carmel (2A) and Rochester (A) remain at No. 1.

The lone change was in Class 3A as Bloomsburg takes over for West Catholic.
