Nathan Katari recorded his first career hat trick, leading North Allegheny to a 3-1 victory over rival Pine-Richland in Section 1-4A boys soccer Thursday night.

Dante Accamando made two saves to earn the win for the Tigers (4-0, 2-0). Mark Cashman scored for the Rams (1-3, 0-2).

Beaver 1, Mohawk 0 – Isaac Tharp scored in overtime to lift Beaver (1-1, 1-1) to a Section 4-2A win at Mohawk (1-2, 1-1). Kyle Carlsen assisted on the goal.

Belle Vernon 2, Yough 1 – Timmy Reda and Jackson Coneybeer scored to help Belle Vernon (2-0, 2-0) to a Section 3-2A win. Zander Aird scored for Yough (1-2-1, 0-2).

Bentworth 6, Greensburg Central Catholic 1 – Ryan Colbert had two goals and three assists to lead Bentworth (3-0, 2-0) to a Section 2-A win, the program’s first victory over Greensburg Central Catholic. Ryan Moessner added two goals and John Scott and Andrew Vipperman also scored for the Bearcats. Mike Oldenburg scored for the Centurions (1-1, 1-1).

Beth-Center 9, Chartiers-Houston 0 – Parker Amos had two goals and four assists and Joey Rodriguez added a pair of goals for Beth-Center (1-1) in a nonsection win over Chartiers-Houston (0-4).

Bethel Park 3, Trinity 0 – Ethan Varley, Jackson Friday and Henry Gaston scored and Luke Rubican recorded the shutout as Bethel Park (2-1, 2-0) topped Trinity (1-1, 1-1) in Section 3-3A.

Carlynton 4, South Side 0 – Ryan Lewis scored two goals to lead Carlynton (2-1) to a nonsection win over South Side (0-2).

Charleroi 11, California 2 – Arlo McIntyre scored four goals and Bryce Large added a pair to lead Charleroi (2-0, 1-0) past California (1-1, 0-1) in Section 2-A. Jake Chambers, Ethan Hartley, Dylan Klinger, Joel Chambers and Landon Barcus also scored for the Cougars.

Deer Lakes 9, Jeannette 2 – Collin Rodgers scored four goals and Peyton Kushon, Artemis Parshyn, Jacob Orseno, Zane Spence and Brayan Sanabria each added a goal to lead Deer Lakes (3-0, 2-0) to a Section 2-2A win. Jordan Taylor and Dominick Semplice scored for Jeannette (2-0, 2-0).

Elizabeth Forward 4, Steel Valley 1 – Carson Ruffing had a pair of goals, Luca Valerio added a goal and two assists, and William Sinay also scored as Elizabeth Forward (1-1, 1-1) beat Steel Valley (1-3, 0-2) in Section 1-2A.

Greensburg Salem 7, Leechburg 1 — Adam Wilson had a hat trick, Drezdan Geselman scored twice, and Grady Rizzo and Anderson De La Cruz added goals as Greensburg Salem (2-1, 1-1) topped Leechburg (0-2, 0-2) in Section 2-2A.

Kiski Area 3, Highlands 0 – Liam Foley had two goals, Austin Beck also scored, and Adam Troya made seven saves to earn the shutout as Kiski Area (1-0, 1-0) defeated Highlands (0-2, 0-2) in Section 1-3A.

Knoch 8, Freeport 0 – Sam Caldwell scored four goals and Austin Friedline netted two for Knoch (1-3, 1-1) in a Section 2-2A win over Freeport (0-3, 0-2).

Mars 4, Armstrong 0 – Landon Rocke scored a pair of goals to lead Mars (2-1-1, 1-0-1) in a Section 1-3A win over Armstrong (1-1, 1-1).

Moon 5, Chartiers Valley 0 – Davi Jansson had a pair of goals and assists to pace Moon (3-1, 2-0) in a Section 3-2A win over Chartiers Valley (1-3, 1-1). Aeden Costa had a goal and an assist, Mike Walenchok and Evan Thomas also scored, and Zach Shutak recorded the shutout.

Penn Hills 5, McKeesport 0 – Luke Hoolahan had a hat trick and Micah Beckley and Mack Byrnes also scored to lead Penn Hills (1-1, 1-1) past McKeesport (0-3, 0-2) in Section 4-3A.

Penn-Trafford 2, Gateway 2 – Chad Pusateri and Brady McClintock scored for Penn-Trafford (0-3-1, 0-1-1) in a Section 4-3A tie with Gateway (1-1-1, 1-0-1).

Quaker Valley 3, Avonworth 1 – Kiril Grin, Nick Allan and Bennett Haas scored to lead Quaker Valley (2-2, 2-0) in a Section 4-2A clash. Rowan Carmichael scored for Avonworth (1-1, 1-1).

Peters Township 2, Allderdice 1 – Jeven Kelly and Brett Martin scored to power Peters Township (4-2, 2-2) past Allderdice (0-3, 0-2) in Section 2-4A.

Ringgold 5, Connellsville 0 – Nico Bove, Nick Evans, Kaden Kuzawinski, Juraj Stasko and Michael Stasko scored, Owen Haywood added three assists, and Aidyn Whaley had a six-save shutout as Ringgold (2-0, 2-0) beat Connellsville (0-2, 0-2) in Section 3-3A.

Riverview 5, St. Joseph 4 – Simon Meals netted the game-winner in overtime, Eben Ulrich had two goals, and Chris O’Toole and Carson Bodnar also scored to lead Riverview (1-1, 1-1) past St. Joseph (0-1, 0-1) in a Section 3-A win.

Seneca Valley 3, Butler 2 – Tyler Prex scored the game winner on a penalty in overtime for Seneca Valley (4-0, 2-0) in a Section 1-4A matchup against Butler (2-1, 1-1). Zach Garma and Cole Kamarec also scored for the Raiders.

Seton LaSalle 1, Winchester Thurston 1 – Tyler Kovalcik scored for Seton LaSalle (0-0-1) in a nonsection draw with Winchester Thurston (2-0-2).

Shady Side Academy 10, Derry 0 – Amir Awais had a hat trick and Jackson Suski added a pair of goals to lead Shady Side Academy (2-0, 2-0) past Derry (1-3, 1-1) in Section 2-2A.

South Fayette 7, Blackhawk 0 – Nate Belcufine and Michael Plasko scored two goals apiece as South Fayette (2-0, 2-0) blanked Blackhawk (0-3, 0-2) in Section 2-3A. Cole Johnson, Yunus Al Kamel and Ryan Bradley also scored.

Springdale 1, Burrell 0 – Billy Lawrence scored the lone goal and Springdale (2-0, 2-0) earned a Section 3-A win over Burrell (1-1, 1-1). Brennan Mattie assisted on the goal.

Thomas Jefferson 6, Laurel Highlands 0 – Brayden Miller had a hat trick and Gui DeLima, Kolten Smith and Jake Shoemaker also scored for Thomas Jefferson (3-1, 1-1) in a Section 3-3A win over Laurel Highlands (0-2, 0-2).

Upper St. Clair 3, Baldwin 0 – Joe Donnelly scored all three of the game’s goals, with assists going to Charlie Bacdayan, Jan Sames and Liam Burlovic, as Upper St. Clair (4-0, 2-0) beat Baldwin (1-3, 0-2) in Section 2-4A.

Girls soccer

Chartiers-Houston 2, Beth-Center 0 – Lauren Rush and Aca Capozzoli scored to lead Chartiers-Houston (3-1, 1-1) to a Section 2-A win over Beth-Center (1-2, 0-1).

Freeport 3, Deer Lakes 1 – Camryn Woods scored two goals and Sam Liput added another to lead Freeport (1-1, 1-0) past Deer Lakes (0-1, 0-1) in a Section 2-2A win.

Field hockey

Penn-Trafford 5, Shady Side Academy 2 – Ava Hershberger scored four goals and added an assist and Maura Spadone also scored as Penn-Trafford picked up a nonsection victory.

Pine-Richland 12, Hempfield 0 – Jessica Albertson had five goals and two assists and Kendyll Jerry and Anna Merlack had two goals apiece for Pine-Richland in a Section 3A win over Hempfield.

Girls volleyball

Beaver 3, Blackhawk 0 – Chloe List had 14 kills, four blocks and nine digs to lead Beaver to a nonsection win. Kailyn Connelly added nine kills, Zoe Ringer dished out 33 assists and Aubrey Bumblis had 16 digs.

Canon-McMillan 3, Montour 0 – Natalie Carr had 12 kills and nine aces and Olivia Gross had 12 assists for Canon-McMillan in a nonsection win over Montour.

Hempfield 3, Greensburg Salem 0 – Ashley Hosni had 12 kills, and Zoey Hopkins added 18 assists and five aces to lead Hempfield to a nonsection victory. Lauren Harry dished out 15 assists, and Sarah Podkul had five aces for the Spartans.

Knoch 3, Deer Lakes 0 – Karlee Buterbaugh had nine kills and Kenzie Kurtz added seven kills as Knoch (2-1) earned a nonsection win. Brynne Smith finished with 25 service points, 12 aces and 20 assists for the Knights.

New Brighton 3, Rochester 0 – Jenna Alaksin had five kills and five aces to lead New Brighton to a nonsection victory. Sundi Fazio had 14 assists and Chloe Rizer recorded seven digs.
