WPIAL Class A roundup: C.J. Jackson throws 4 TDs as Cornell moves to 4-0

C.J. Jackson threw for 161 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 3 Cornell to a 41-0 victory over Avella (2-2, 0-1) in the Class A Black Hills Conference on Friday night.
Mikey Keyes caught five passes for 113 yards and three touchdowns for the Raiders (4-0, 1-0).
Fort Cherry 51, Chartiers-Houston 0 — Shane Cornali ran for 112 yards and two touchdowns and caught four passes for 101 yards and a TD to lead Fort Cherry (4-0, 1-0) over Chartiers-Houston (0-4, 0-1) in the Black Hills Conference. Fort Cherry scored 35 points in the first quarter.
OLSH 22, Carlynton 6 — Ethan Gardner caught nine passes for 112 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score as OLSH (2-2, 1-0) beat Carlynton (1-3, 0-1) in the Black Hills Conference. Dorrien Tate threw for 139 yards and a touchdown for OLSH.
Rochester 42, Summit Academy 6 — No. 5 Rochester (3-0, 1-0) beat Summit Academy (0-4, 0-1) in the Big 7 Conference.
South Side 55, Northgate 6 — Brody Almashy threw for 139 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 2 South Side (4-0, 1-0) to the Big 7 Conference win at Northgate (2-2, 0-1). Ryan Navarra added 146 rushing yards and a touchdown for South Side, which outgained Northgate, 449 yards to 61 yards.
Bentworth 28, Monessen 0 — In the Tri-County South, Vitali Daniels ran for three touchdowns as Bentworth (2-2, 1-0) shut out Monessen (1-3, 0-1).
Beth-Center 20, Mapletown 6 — In the Tri-County South, Ethan Varesko ran for 127 yards and two touchdowns as Beth-Center (1-3, 1-0) beat Mapletown (2-2, 0-1). Evan Griffin rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown for Mapletown, which led at the half, 6-0.
California 48, Jefferson-Morgan 21 — California (3-1, 1-0) defeated Jefferson-Morgan (1-3, 0-1) in Tri-County South play.
West Greene 47, Carmichaels 14 — Colin Brady rushed for 150 yards and teammate Billy Whitlach ran for 108 yards and a touchdown as West Greene (3-1, 1-0) beat Carmichaels (1-3, 0-1) in Tri-County South play. Johnny Lampe added four rushing touchdowns. A.J. Donaldson threw for 123 yards for Carmichaels.
Berlin-Brothersvalley 27, Laurel 0 — Pace Prosser threw for 115 yards and a touchdown as Berlin-Brothersvalley (4-0) shut out Laurel (1-3) in nonconference play.
