Maddie Syka scored 22 points to lead Lincoln Park to a 45-42 victory over South Fayette in a matchup of top teams in Section 4-5A girls basketball Monday night.

Sarah Scott and J’La Kizart added 10 points apiece for the Leopards (18-0, 7-0). Erica Hall scored 12 points for South Fayette (10-7, 4-3).

Aliquippa 58, Sewickley Academy 32 – Carla Brown scored 17 points, Denim Odom had 12 and Aunesty Johnson added 10 to lead Aliquippa (16-1, 10-0) to a Section 1-2A win. Libby Eannarino led Sewickley Academy (5-11, 2-7) with 20 points.

Apollo-Ridge 42, Ligonier Valley 25 – Sophia Yard scored 23 points to lead Apollo-Ridge (7-11, 3-4) to a Section 3-3A victory. Marlee Miller led Ligonier Valley (5-13, 2-5) with seven points.

Aquinas Academy 53, Eden Christian 32 – Tess Duer scored 13 points to lead Aquinas Academy (15-3, 3-2) to a Section 1-A win. Emmie Smith scored nine points for Eden Christian (8-10, 1-3).

Avonworth 49, OLSH 30 – Rebecca Goetz led with 18 points and Emma Obersteiner added 10 for Avonworth (15-1, 7-0) in a Section 2-3A win. Morgan O’Brien and Gianna Marino scored eight points apiece for OLSH (12-7, 3-4).

Belle Vernon 47, Southmoreland 24 – Caroline Lee scored a career-high 14 points and Kenzi Seliga added 11 to lead Belle Vernon (10-10, 6-4) to a Section 3-4A win. Bea Pawlikowsky scored 13 for Southmoreland (2-16, 1-8).

Blackhawk 58, Hopewell 10 – Alena Fusetti scored 16 points to lead Blackhawk (16-2, 7-0) past Hopewell (8-9, 4-3) in Section 2-4A.

Carmichaels 40, Bentworth 36 – Megan Voithofer scored 13 points to lead Carmichaels (3-15, 2-7) to a Section 4-2A win. Aubrie Logan led Bentworth (4-15, 1-9) with 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and Amber Sallee had 15 points and three 3-pointers.

Central Valley 53, Ambridge 24 – Nyah Hayes led Central Valley (6-10, 3-4) with 15 points and Mia Dinello and Kylie Godhsall added 11 points apiece in a Section 2-4A win. Alivea Bupp scored 10 points for Ambridge (2-14, 0-5).

Charleroi 60, Yough 48 – Ella Sypolt scored 21 points, Bella Carroto followed with 20 and Riley Jones added 11 to lead Charleroi (8-9, 1-6) to a Section 4-3A win. Autumn Matthews led Yough (8-10, 1-6) with 26 points.

Chartiers Valley 69, Baldwin 51 – Emma Reynolds led Chartiers Valley (14-3, 7-2) with 20 points, Iyla Ozbey had 15 and Lilah Turnbull and Rachel Boehm added 12 points apiece in a Section 2-6A win. Mary Vargo scored 14 points and Katie Lucarelli and Lynsey Bernotas had 11 points apiece for Baldwin (8-11, 1-9).

Clairton 90, Springdale 20 – Iyanna Wade scored 40 points to power Clairton (15-2, 7-2) to a Section 3-2A victory. Keira Brown added 19 and Karma Fuqua had 18 for the Bears. Ashlyn Ferderbar led Springdale (6-13, 2-7) with 13.

Geibel 49, West Greene 44 – Emma Larkin scored 23 points and Ava Henderson added 13 to push Geibel (12-5, 5-2) to a Section 2-A win. Kendra Tharp led West Greene (7-11, 4-3) with 24 points.

Elizabeth Forward 60, Laurel Highlands 31 – Alyssa Terza scored 28 points and Chloe Zombek added 11 for Elizabeth Forward (17-2, 10-0) in a Section 3-4A win. Miya Harris scored 14 points for Laurel Highlands (15-2, 7-2).

Ellwood City 60, Riverside 31 – Claire Noble put up 25 points to power Ellwood City (13-6, 4-3) to a Section 1-3A win. Delaney Sturgeon added 13 and Caitlin Kreitzer had 10 for the Wolverines. Camryn Friello led Riverside (4-12, 0-7) with 14 points.

Fort Cherry 45, Brentwood 30 – Raney Staub scored 16 points to push Fort Cherry (14-4, 6-1) to a Section 2-2A win. Jessie Yee scored nine points for Brentwood (8-11, 4-3).

Freedom 47, Rochester 43 – Shaye Bailey led Freedom (10-9, 8-2) with 30 points and Olivia Henderson added 10 in a matchup of top teams in Section 1-2A. Tia Yellock scored 14 points for Rochester (11-6, 7-2).

Hempfield 36, Seneca Valley 32 – Sarah Podkul scored 17 points and Ashley Hosni added 14 as Hempfield (8-11, 1-6) picked up its first Section 2-6A victory of the season. Allison Sevin scored 12 and Gracie Cato had 10 for Seneca Valley (12-6, 4-3).

Highlands 47, Freeport 28 – Kalleigh Nerone scored 16 points and Kate Myers and Shelby Wojcik added eight points apiece for Highlands (12-6, 7-2) in a Section 1-4A win. Tessa Keller scored 11 points for Freeport (7-12, 3-7).

Knoch 60, Derry 34 – Karlee Buterbaugh scored a season-high 19 points and Knoch (10-7, 5-4) used a 20-2 third-quarter run to pull away in a Section 1-4A win. Neah Ewing scored 11 and Naturelle Ewing added 10 for the Knights. Samantha Gruska, Rachelle Marinchak and Haylee Myers each scored eight for Derry (5-13, 2-8).

Latrobe 45, Connellsville 11 – Elle Snyder scored 15 points as Latrobe (9-10, 4-5) defeated Connellsville (3-13, 0-9) in Section 3-5A.

Leechburg 35, Nazareth Prep 31 – Adalyn Zanotto scored 10 points and Grace Richards added nine to push Leechburg (7-7) to a nonsection win. Cashmere Ralph led Nazareth Prep (1-4) with 15 points.

McKeesport 63, Albert Gallatin 19 – Kaylee Charles scored 15 points, Madison Miller added 11 and Maddie Hertzler had 10 for McKeesport (15-2, 7-1) in a Section 3-5A win. Mya Glisan led Albert Gallatin (4-14, 1-9) with 11.

Monessen 57, Jefferson-Morgan 15 – Hailey Johnson scored 14 points to lead Monessen (13-3, 7-0) to a Section 2-A win over Jefferson-Morgan (3-15, 1-6).

Montour 56, West Allegheny 29 – Jordyn Wolfe scored 28 points to lead Montour (8-9, 3-4) to a Section 4-5A win. Emma Ruperto led West Allegheny (6-11, 0-7) with eight.

Mt. Pleasant 38, Deer Lakes 16 – Riley Gesinski scored 13 points to lead Mt. Pleasant (11-6, 4-3) to a Section 3-3A win. Sophia Laurenza scored six points for Deer Lakes (4-14, 0-7).

Neshannock 60, Laurel 36 – Payton Newman scored 21 points to help Neshannock (12-5, 6-1) to a Section 1-3A win. Sophia Bonner added 11 and Nine Medure had 10 for the Lancers. Jael Henderson led Laurel (4-14, 1-6) with 14.

North Catholic 52, Greensburg Salem 41 – Alayna Rocco led North Catholic (12-5, 10-0) with 27 points and Lauren Reitz had 14 in a Section 1-4A win. Kait Mankins scored 18 points and Ashlan Price had 12 for Greensburg Salem (14-5, 6-3).

Northgate 29, Carlynton 28 – Kaylee Hunt scored 13 points and Nia Salih added 10 to push Northgate (6-10, 3-4) to a Section 2-2A win. Carlee Hughes led Carlynton (5-12, 1-6) with 10 points.

Norwin 64, Butler 47 – Lauren Palangio scored 19 points and Ava Kobus added 15 to lead Norwin (15-3, 7-0) to a Section 1-6A win. Sydney Patterson and Amelia McMichael scored nine points apiece for Butler (4-14, 1-6).

Oakland Catholic 62, Thomas Jefferson 38 – Kaylee DeAngelo and Raygen Hintmeyer scored 16 points apiece and London Creach added 13 for Oakland Catholic (19-0, 10-0) in a Section 3-5A win. Laekyn Flinn had 20 points and Riley McCabe added 11 for Thomas Jefferson (7-11, 4-5).

Quaker Valley 45, Beaver 39 – Mimi Thiero scored 26 points and Madi Chapman added 11 as Quaker Valley (3-13, 3-3) rallied from 10 points down at halftime to defeat Beaver (6-10, 3-3) in Section 2-4A.

Shady Side Academy 53, Burrell 32 – Maggie Spell scored 19 points and Karis Thomas added 18 to lead Shady Side Academy (15-2, 7-0) to a Section 3-3A win. Casey Brancato led Burrell (13-4, 5-2) with 16 points.

Shaler 50, New Castle 14 – Hanna Dejidas scored 13 points for Shaler (6-13, 3-6) in a Section 2-5A win. Rihanna Boice led New Castle (2-17, 0-10) with eight.

South Allegheny 48, East Allegheny 33 – Gabi Jackson scored 18 points and had four 3-pointers and Ella Lotz added 10 to lead South Allegheny (5-12, 2-5) to a Section 2-3A win. Ronniya Lawrence scored 13 points and Ivy Barnett had 12 for East Allegheny (0-18, 0-7).

Trinity 42, Moon 35 – Ruby Morgan scored 17 points and Maddy Roberts added 10 to push Trinity (13-5, 5-2) to a Section 4-5A win. Jaedin Griggs and Leiana Rucker scored eight points apiece for Moon (11-7, 2-5).

Union 53, Bishop Canevin 19 – Kylie Fruehstorfer and Kelly Cleaver each scored 16 points to propel Union (14-5, 5-0) to a Section 1-A win. Kyla Cooley scored 11 for Bishop Canevin (3-12, 0-4).

Upper St. Clair 47, Mt. Lebanon 31 – Olivia Terlecki led Upper St. Clair (10-9, 4-5) with 16 points and Meredith Huzjak followed with 15 points, including four 3-pointers, in a Section 2-6A win. Claire Kramer scored 10 points for Mt. Lebanon (10-9, 6-4).

Waynesburg 65, McGuffey 40 – Led by 17 points from Addison Blair, 16 from Avery Davis and 13 from Kaley Rohanna, Waynesburg (17-1, 7-0) picked up a Section 4-3A win. Taylor Schumacher scored 22 and Madison Gaso had 11 for McGuffey (13-5, 3-4).

West Mifflin 52, Uniontown 25 – Savaughn Wimbs led West Mifflin (9-6, 7-2) with 22 points, Kendall Lee had 15 and A’ryah Scott added 10 in a Section 3-4A win. A’kira Dade scored nine points for Uniontown (5-13, 2-8).

Winchester Thurston 77, Steel Valley 23 – Aleah Cooper scored 17 points, Dashae Cochran followed with 15 and Jasmine Hollins added 14 for Winchester Thurston (9-9, 5-3) in a Section 3-2A win. Sau’mara Hardman scored eight points for Steel Valley (0-18, 0-10).

Woodland Hills 37, Penn Hills 26 – Mylee Young scored 10 points and Hope Hawkins had eight points and 12 rebounds to lead Woodland Hills (7-9, 5-4) to a Section 1-5A win. Hannah Pugliese led all scorers with 13 for Penn Hills (7-10, 4-5).

Boys basketball

Fort Cherry 85, Beth-Center 56 – Shane Cornali had a triple-double with 27 points, 15 rebounds and 10 steals as Fort Cherry (14-4, 9-0) won in Section 4-2A. Derek Errett also scored 27 for the Rangers. Santino Revi, Jonah Sussan and Jason Zellie each scored nine for Beth-Center (5-13, 3-6).

Obama Academy 68, Brashear 51 – Torrien Perkins and Tyvon Morse each scored 16 points and Kevian Harris added 13 as Obama Academy (5-9, 4-1) earned a City League win. Titus Gillett hit seven 3-pointers and scored 28 points for Brashear (5-9, 2-3). Karmello Harshey added 11.

Propel Montour 64, Calvary Christian 29 – Jaiden Williams scored 25 points and John Anderson and Chris Harris each added 10 to lead Propel Montour.

Shady Side Academy 84, Ligonier Valley 37 – Eli Teslovich scored 17 points for Shady Side Academy (11-6, 7-2) in a Section 3-3A win. Michael Wisniewski scored 17 points and Parker Hollick had 10 for Ligonier Valley (4-13, 2-7).

Sto-Rox 65, Steel Valley 50 – David Johnson scored 19 points, Marcus Griffin added 14 and Javon Nelson chipped in as Sto-Rox (8-10, 4-5) picked up a Section 2-3A win. Nate Yuhas scored 16 and Nahjir Norris added 15 for Steel Valley (0-17, 0-9).

Hockey

Armstrong 10, North Hills 2 – Aiden Kutch and Jake Graff scored two goals apiece to lead Armstrong (4-11) to a Class 2A win. Grayson Lang and Andrew Nazak scored for North Hills (0-15).

Bishop Canevin 9, Elizabeth Forward 0 – Ryan Saginaw scored four goals and had four assists and Eion Tiernan and Brian Kalanish had two goals apiece to lead Bishop Canevin (15-0) to a Varsity D2 win over Elizabeth Forward (7-6).

Blackhawk 3, Moon 0 – Owen Keister had a goal and two assists and Evan Kennelly made 25 saves to lead Blackhawk (11-2-1) to a Class A win. Finn Conolon had a goal and an assist, Bryce Leiper also scored and Matias Huber dished out two assists. Tyler Rieke made 35 saves for Moon (9-8).

Butler 5, Meadville 3 – Brayden Hartsock had two goals and an assist and Anthony Tromblatt added a goal and two assists to lead Butler (9-9) to a Class A victory. Andrew Roskovski and Owen Denny also scored for Butler. Dougie Phillis, Matt Kaste and Rocco Tartaglione scored for Meadville (8-5-2).

Knoch 10, Wilmington 3 – Ethan Keller piled up five goals and two assists and Cross Swaney, Nick Olshanski and Synjun McHattie each had a goal and an assist for Knoch (4-11) in a Varsity D2 victory over Wilmington (2-13).

Latrobe 8, Fox Chapel 5 – Dylan Morris and Jackson Hayburn scored two goals apiece, Jacob Hannah had a goal and two assists, and Bryant Dumnich added a goal and an assist for Latrobe (12-5) in a Class 2A win. Dom Casile had a goal and two assists for Fox Chapel (9-6-1).

Mars 9, Kiski 1 – Ben Olshenske had two goals and two assists, Gavin Stevenson recorded two goals and one assist and Jack Tirch added a goal and an assist to lead Mars (13-4) to a Class A win. Ethan Bombalski scored for Kiski (0-18).

North Allegheny 5, Bethel Park 3 – Evan Perrotte scored two goals and Noah Logan, Ravi Deasi and Evan Kerber each scored a goal to lead North Allegheny (10-3-2) to a Class 3A win. Will Alborg, Anthony Karner and Peter Velisaris scored for Bethel Park (9-5-1).

Richland 7, Hampton 4 – Jack Lorence had two goals and two assists and Brady Rex and Connor Bethmann scored a pair of goals to lead Richland (5-10-1) to a Class A win. Sean Sullivan had a goal and two assists for Hampton (4-13).

Shaler 6, West Allegheny 3 – Jacob Kunc had two goals and two assists and Chase Irwin added two goals and an assist to lead Shaler (12-3-2) to a Class A win. Lucca Laquatra and Luca Wallander each had a goal and an assist. Branden Switalski had a goal and two assists and John Wineland had a goal and an assist for West Allegheny (2-15).

Thomas Jefferson 2, Norwin 1 – Jake Stock scored the game-winning goal in the third period and Aidan Dougherty made 24 saves to lead Thomas Jefferson (14-2) to a Class 2A win. Scott Allan also scored for TJ. Dom Cerilli scored and Owen Burmeister made 42 saves for Norwin (9-6-2).
