London Creach

Oakland Catholic

5-8, junior, G

Oakland Catholic was a perfect 24-0 with Creach in the lineup. A late-season injury in the WPIAL quarterfinals dimmed the Eagles’ championship hopes, showing just how valuable she was for the Eagles. She averaged 13.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.3 assist and 2.9 steals per game. A handful of Division I schools already have offered her a scholarship.

Mallory Daly

Seton LaSalle

5-8, senior, G

Daly broke a career scoring record set by WPIAL Hall of Famer Suzie McConnell-Serio with 1,971 points. She averaged 23.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, six steals and four assists this winter for the Rebels, who reached the WPIAL quarterfinals and second round of states. She is a Buffalo recruit.

Alena Fusetti

Blackhawk

5-9, senior, G

Fusetti reached five championship games in her four seasons at Blackhawk, including three consecutive WPIAL finals and two straight PIAA finals. She capped off her medal collection this winter with state championship gold. The Mercyhurst recruit averaged 15.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and three assists per game for the Cougars, who went 27-3 this season.

Rachael Manfredo

McKeesport

6-0, senior, G/F

Manfredo led McKeesport to a 24-win season this winter that included postseason runs to both the WPIAL and PIAA Class 5A semifinals. The Edinboro recruit averaged 14.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. She scored at least 12 points in seven of her team’s eight playoff games highlighted by a 22-point effort in the state quarterfinals.

Lauren Palangio

Norwin

6-2, senior, F

Palangio averaged 13.7 points and 8.7 rebounds for the WPIAL Class 6A champions. She had a double-double in the WPIAL finals with 12 points and 15 rebounds in a 56-41 victory over North Allegheny. The Knights finished 23-4 overall and reached the state quarterfinals. Palangio will play in college for Holy Family in Philadelphia.

Emma Paul

Armstrong

5-5, senior, G

Paul led Armstrong to the WPIAL finals and a state playoff berth for the first time. She averaged 22.2 points, 5.6 assists, 4 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game for the River Hawks, who won 23 games. She set a school single-game record with 45 points in early January and had 36 in the WPIAL finals. She graduates with 1,721 career points.

Alayna Rocco

North Catholic

5-11, senior, G

Rocco celebrated her third consecutive WPIAL title, this time by scoring a game-high 26 points in the Class 4A final for a 40-37 overtime victory over Blackhawk. The Harvard recruit averaged 19 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 3.2 steals per game as the 2024 TribLive HSSN Player of the Year. She’s the daughter of North Catholic boys coach Jim Rocco.

Maggie Spell

Shady Side Academy

5-10, sophomore, G

Spell led Shady Side Academy to its first WPIAL title with a game-high 31 points in the Class 3A finals to knock off the defending champions. She averaged 19.8 points for the Bulldogs, who went 26-3 and reached the state quarterfinals.

Iyanna Wade

Clairton

5-4, junior, G

Iyanna Wade won her second straight WPIAL scoring title. She averaged 40.1 points this winter, along with 5.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists, and already has topped 2,100 points for her career. She broke a WPIAL single-game record with 65 points in a regular-season win and later scored 52 in a first-round win in the WPIAL 2A playoffs.

Natalie Wetzel

Peters Township

6-3, junior, F

Wetzel already has around two dozen college offers, stretching geographically from Princeton to Arizona State. She showed why this winter when she averaged 17.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists. The Indians won 24 games and reached the WPIAL 6A semifinals. She scored 30 points in a quarterfinal win.
