Friday night’s Greensburg Central Catholic at Frazier Class A Eastern Conference football game has been postponed due to a shortage of players on the Frazier team.

The school district said the team is overwhelmed with injuries and would have trouble filling out a lineup.

“We have determined that it is in the best interest of our players’ health and safety not to participate in the game,” Frazier said in a statement. “The well-being of our student-athletes is our top priority, and this decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure that our players are not placed at unecessary risk.”

GCC (5-2, 4-1) has won four in a row as it moves closer to a playoff berth.

Frazier (1-7, 0-5) has lost six in a row.

GCC athletic director Dan Mahoney said it is unlikely the game will be made up.
