Gabby Beinecke scored the overtime winner, assisted by Abbey Spalla, to lead No. 2 South Fayette to a 1-0 victory over No. 10 Bethel Park (10-7-3) in the WPIAL Class 3A girls soccer quarterfinals Thursday night. The Lions (16-3) will meet No. 6 Mars in the semifinals Tuesday.

Fox Chapel 7, Montour 1 – Alyssa Quackenbush had a hat trick and added an assist as top-seeded Fox Chapel (17-2-1) rolled to a Class 3A quarterfinal victory. Emily McKee collected two goals and three assists for the Foxes, who will face No. 4 Plum in the semifinals Tuesday. Irelynn Hobbs scored for No. 8 Montour (12-6-2).

Mars 2, West Allegheny 0 – No. 6 Mars (17-2) shut out No. 3 West Allegheny (14-5-1) in the Class 3A quarterfinals. The Fightin’ Planets will meet No. 2 South Fayette in Tuesday’s semifinals.

North Allegheny 3, Mt. Lebanon 2 (OT) – Aubrey Wells scored the overtime winner to lift No. 4 North Allegheny (12-5-1) to a Class 4A quarterfinal win over No. 12 Mt. Lebanon (10-8-1). Luciana Zagacki and Mia Barsotti also scored for the Tigers, who will face No. 1 Peters Township in the semifinals Monday.

Peters Township 2, Pine-Richland 0 – Paige Malley and Marina Hajnosz scored to power No. 1 Peters Township (17-0-1) to a Class 4A quarterfinal win over No. 8 Pine-Richland (13-6). Molly Kubistek preserved the shutout for Peters, which will meet No. 4 North Allegheny in Monday’s semifinals.

Seneca Valley 1, Upper St. Clair 0 – Karly Majeski scored the winning goal, assisted by Maddie Marcotte, to lift No. 2 Seneca Valley (13-2-2) past No. 7 Upper St. Clair (10-6-2) in the Class 4A quarterfinals. The Raiders will take on No. 6 Canon-McMillan in the semifinals Monday.

Boys soccer

Avonworth 1, Shady Side Academy 0 – Rowan Carmichael scored the winning goal, assisted by Abdul Basit Sleiman Kaije, as No. 2 Avonworth (16-2-2) got past No. 10 Shady Side Academy (12-5-1) in the Class 2A quarterfinals. Alex Rowe recorded the shutout for the Antelopes, who will face No. 3 Deer Lakes in the semifinals Monday.

Burrell 1, Seton LaSalle 0 – Parker Pruitt finished off a deflected Billy Kowalkowski cross in the first minute of the second half for the game’s only goal as No. 13 Burrell (10-9) kept its Class 2A playoff run going with a victory over No. 12 Seton LaSalle (13-5). Ben Doland made three saves to earn the shutout for the Bucs, who will take on top-seeded South Park in the semifinals Monday.

Moon 3, Hampton 0 – Evan Thomas scored twice and Zech Balbach added a goal as No. 1 Moon (20-0) beat No. 9 Hampton (12-4-3) in a Class 3A quarterfinal. Aedan Costa had two assists, Luiz Silva added an assist and William Guarino preserved the shutout for the Tigers, who will take on No. 5 Bethel Park in the semifinals Monday.

South Park 3, Central Valley 0 – Top-seeded South Park (18-1-1) blanked No. 9 Central Valley (15-5) in the Class 2A quarterfinals. The Eagles will take on No. 13 Burrell in the semifinals Monday.

Girls volleyball

Canon-McMillan 3, Pine-Richland 0 – Abby Tucker had 15 kills and five blocks, Brooke Peters dished out 20 assists and Sophia Powell had 16 digs to lead No. 2 Canon-McMillan (16-1) past No. 7 Pine-Richland (9-9) in the Class 4A quarterfinals. Set scores were 25-17, 25-21 and 25-20. Natalie Carr added 13 kills, Cali Dagen had 10 kills and Carsen Brown collected 10 assists for the Big Macs, who will take on No. 3 North Catholic in the semifinals.

In the other Class 4A quarterfinals, No. 1 North Allegheny defeated No. 9 Armstrong, 3-0, No. 4 Upper St. Clair beat No. 5 Shaler, 3-0, and No. 3 North Catholic swept No. 6 Peters Township, 3-0.

Frazier 3, Serra Catholic 0 – Addison Schultz had 12 kills and five blocks, Gracen Hartman handed out 43 assists and Addison Hiles had 18 digs to lead top-seeded Frazier (14-3) to a 25-23, 25-13, 25-11 win over No. 8 Serra Catholic (12-6) in the Class A quarterfinals. Maddie Salisbury had 10 kills and 13 service points and Grace Vaughn had nine kills and 14 service points for the Commodores, who will face No. 4 St. Joseph in the semifinals.

St. Joseph 3, California 0 – Kate Giannetta had 11 kills and served up two aces to lead No. 4 St. Joseph (17-3) to a 25-15, 25-19, 25-22 victory over No. 12 California (9-6) in the Class A quarterfinals.

In the other Class A quarterfinals, No. 2 Eden Christian reached the WPIAL semifinals for the first time in program history with a 3-0 win over No. 7 Bishop Canevin and No. 3 Greensburg Central Catholic swept No. 6 Beaver County Christian, 3-0, and

Field hockey

Pine-Richland 11, Norwin 0 – Alyssa Baculik scored a hat trick to lead top-seeded Pine-Richland (19-0) past No. 4 Norwin (4-13) in the Class 3A semifinals. The Rams will meet No. 2 Mt. Lebanon in the championship game Nov. 2 at Washington & Jefferson. The Blue Devils (12-4) got past No. 2 North Allegheny (8-11) in the other semifinal, 1-0. In the Class 2A semifinals, No. 1 Peters Township (15-3) picked up an 8-0 victory over No. 4 Latrobe (3-11). Peters will face No. 2 Fox Chapel in the finals.

Hockey

Beaver 4, Westmont Hilltop 1 – Sammy Mecchia scored twice, Zack Masters had a goal and an assist and Brooke Goulder also scored for Beaver (1-2-1) in a Class A win. Ethan Downey scored for Westmont Hilltop (0-3).

Blackhawk 4, McDowell 3 – Bryce Leiper scored the game-winning goal in the third period and Daniel Ostrom, Grant Shroads and Beck Harry also scored for Blackhawk (2-0) in a Class A win. Alec Coon scored two goals for McDowell (2-4).

Central Catholic 5, South Fayette 3 – Noah Hritz scored twice, Aaron Daley had three assists and Chris Sargo, Dante Albanese and Nate Morgan also added goals to lead Central Catholic (2-2-2) to a Class 3A win. Mason Imler, Dylan Mach and Trevor Dalessandro scored for South Fayette (0-3-1).

Central Valley 6, Trinity 4 – Treyton Palocsik had three goals and an assist, including the go-ahead goal in the third period, to lead Central Valley (1-2) to a Division 2 win. Logan Sullivan and Kevin Tomko each had a goal and an assist. Seamus Coyle collected two goals and an assist and Zach Jiblets added a goal and an assist for Trinity (1-4).

Elizabeth Forward 4, Connellsville 3 – Cam Thompson scored two goals and Bobby Boord Jr. dished out three assists to lead Elizabeth Forward (4-1) to a Division 2 win. Brant Alekson and Riley Wright also scored for EF. Sam Denny scored twice and Braden Rodgerson had three assists for Connellsville (2-1).

Hempfield 8, Norwin 1 – Nick Crupie had a hat trick and Guerin Gardner added a goal and three assists to lead Hempfield (2-2) to a Class 2A victory. Dane Busch had a goal and two assists and Austin Herron contributed a goal and an assist for Hempfield. Mason Hohman scored for Norwin (0-4).

Moon 9, Richland 0 – Landon Watson had a hat trick and Carson Relyea made 14 saves to lead Moon (3-1) to a Class A win over Richland (0-4). Clayton Foster had two goals and an assist and Max Haag added a goal and an assist.

Mt. Lebanon 5, Pine-Richland 2 – Griffin Krupp and Chayce Stasiowski each had two goals and Braddox Pollett also scored to lead Mt. Lebanon (3-0) to a Class 3A win. Colten Andrighetti had a goal and an assist and Jeremy Casper also scored for Pine-Richland (1-3).

Ringgold 7, Gateway 3 – Brady Lippert had a hat trick, Nolan Mosco scored twice and Caden Doran had a goal and an assist to lead Ringgold (2-1) to a Division 2 win. Gavin Grant scored twice and CJ Evans had three assists for Gateway (0-2-1).

Shaler 9, Wheeling Central Catholic 1 – Darius Malecki collected three goals and an assist, Jacob Skerlong scored twice and Chase Irwin had a goal and two assists to lead Shaler (5-0) to a Class A win. Brendan Fitzgerald and Roman Angelo each had a goal and an assist. Logan Pielech scored for Wheeling Central Catholic (2-2).
