Avonworth soccer standout Fiona Mahan missed most of her senior season with a torn ACL, but that didn’t stop her from making an elite roster.

Mahan, an Alabama commit, was selected to the 12th annual High School All-American Game set for Dec. 14 at Wando High School in Charleston, S.C.

With her rehabilitation about three months in by then, Mahan will suit up and start the game and be recognized before watching from the sideline.

She will play for the East team in the national showcase game for seniors.

The midfielder’s list of accomplishments include winning three WPIAL championships, along with All-American, all-region, all-state and All-WPIAL recognition.

Mahan finished her prep career with 71 goals and 52 assists for 194 points.

Her injury occurred four games into this season in a home game against South Fayette. She had surgery in late September.
